Who And What Did AJ Styles Come Back For at TNA Slammiversary 2025?

AJ Styles returned  at TNA Slammiversary 2025. We didn’t know if he was coming for a match, an interference, or an appearance. Just after Leon Slater defeated Moose for the X-Division Championship, AJ Styles made his long-awaited return to the house he built. Was he going to challenge Leon Slater?

AJ Styles first asked the TNA fans if they missed him. The crowd replied with, “One More Match.” He added that it has been a long road for him to come back to the company where his name was built. Some said he would never be able to come back, but here he was.

Joe Hendry said multiple times that Leon Slater was the “Future AJ Styles.” AJ Styles confirmed it, saying to Leon Slater, “Here, the talent is better than it’s ever been.” The first-ever TNA X-Division Champion said Leon Slater didn’t deserve it; he earned it.

Styles also congratulated Slater on becoming the youngest X-Division Champion of all time. “You didn’t just impress me tonight, Leon, you made me realize why I love this business,” said Styles to one of his biggest fans. “Guys like you make people like me love what they do. So, thank you for that.”

After all the emotions, now comes the question: Did AJ Styles make his final appearance in TNA, or is there more to come? Styles said he would love one last TNA match against Frankie Kazarian. Time will tell.

Elsewhere at TNA Slammiversary, The Hardys won the tag team titles before being shocked by the return of one of their most famous rivals.

Also, one woman was crowned both TNA Knockouts and NXT Women’s Champion.
