WWE Queen of the Ring 2025: Who will Claim the Crown at Night of Champions?

WWE Queen of the Ring 2025: Who will Claim the Crown?

If the 2024 Queen of the Ring tournament is anything to go by, seizing the crown, cape, and scepter could provide an incredible career boost for the winning Superstar’s career. The winner of the tournament will be guaranteed a world title shot at WWE SummerSlam in August. And with the women’s roster in its most competitive era in the company’s history, it’s an opportunity that’s too good to miss.

Now down to four superstars, there’s a convincing case to be made for each wrestler to claim that crown. From a desperation to make up lost time to making their first big impression on the main roster, the final four all have strong incentives for winning the tournament.

Roxanne Perez

She isn’t called the Prodigy for nothing. The 23-year-old Perez has shown quality well beyond her years, being the standout women’s wrestler on NXT over the past two years. Following two impressive reigns as NXT women’s champion, Perez announced herself on the biggest stages in 2025.

At the Royal Rumble, she finished runner-up to Charlotte Flair after lasting a record 67 minutes in the match. She also qualified for this year’s Money in the Bank and Elimination Chamber matches, beating the likes of Becky Lynch and Raquel Rodriguez en route.

Her early brushes with glory suggest that world titles await Perez in the future. Yet, these experiences may have provided a learning curve that could see her iron out her mistakes and go all the way in the QOTR tournament.

WWE is clearly very excited for Perez’s future prospects. But again, this title opportunity probably comes a little too soon in her main roster journey. Her semi-final opponent, meanwhile, will be looking to make up for lost time…

Jade Cargill

Jade Cargill’s first-round win ensured that Nia Jax wouldn’t become the first two-time QOTR winner. It was another moment of revenge, as Cargill was baited into a DQ loss by Jax at the quarter-final stage last year. More importantly, the win also put Cargill back in the title conversation after her six-month storyline hiatus.

Cargill’s persona has taken on a grittier, angrier edge, clearly altered by Naomi’s betrayal last November. Cargill’s 508-day reign as AEW TBS Champion announced her as a serious breakout star in 2022. But her performances have been mixed since making the move to WWE.

However, her television hiatus seems to have allowed her some crucial development time at the Performance Center. Since returning to SmackDown, Cargill has been more assured, delivering performances worthy of her glamazonian aura. She looks likely to dispose of Perez, but whether she can overcome the experience of the other two semi-finalists is a more difficult question to answer.

Nonetheless, the prospect of Cargill winning the Queen of the Ring, winning the title at SummerSlam, and then being cashed in on by Naomi looks like a very plausible storyline that could come to fruition.

Alexa Bliss

Alexa Bliss received one of the biggest pops of the night when she made her long-awaited return at the 2025 Royal Rumble. Despite being out of action for two years, the WWE Universe had not forgotten about the five-time Women’s Champion.

Her appearances since then have been sporadic. But like Perez, she did manage to qualify for both the Elimination Chamber and Money in the Bank.

Recent appearances have seen Bliss hinting at a future feud with Charlotte Flair, who lost at the expense of Bliss proceeding to the semi-finals. Despite the rivalry with Flair, Bliss’ creative direction seems vague currently. Whispers of a Wyatt Sicks reunion have died down, and her absence post-Royal Rumble suggested that a long-term storyline had yet to be developed for the returning star.

Creatively, beyond popularity, it doesn’t seem likely that Bliss will win the QOTR. It seems more like the latest stopgap on the road to a bigger storyline/feud.

Asuka

This week’s episode of WWE Raw saw the return of one superstar who has done it all – except win the Queen of the Ring. Asuka returned after a lengthy post-op layoff. WWE fans hadn’t seen her in action since her tag title loss at Backlash over a year ago.

Faced with Raquel Rodriguez, Ivy Nile, and Stephanie Vaquer, Asuka looked like she hadn’t lost a step. Pinning Nile following an assist from Rhea Ripley, Asuka set up a semi-final reunion with former tag partner Alexa Bliss. WWE will want Asuka to be up to speed and moving forward with plenty of momentum.

A QOTR win presents a chance to build future storylines as well as to cleanly tie up one major loose end. Asuka’s injury was the beginning of the end for Damage CTRL.

Injuries to both Asuka and Kairi Sane left remaining members Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai lacking numbers following the betrayal of former leader Bayley. Kai’s release earlier this year and Sky’s growing popularity led to WWE quietly disbanding the once-dominant faction.

Should Asuka claim the Queen of the Ring title, a SummerSlam showdown with Iyo Sky provides an opportunity to properly bring the curtain down on Damage CTRL. Whether the match prompts a post-breakup rivalry or a continued semi-alliance, the clash would tick a lot of boxes for both fans and WWE creative.
