WWE Raw takes over the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Ohio as it wheel-spins away from the Royal Rumble on the road to WrestleMania Vegas. The Elimination Chamber is the next big event on that road. Who competes in the Chamber matches will be determined on WWE Raw. Here’s our full WWE Raw preview. WWE Raw airs live on Netflix at 8 pm Eastern.
Jey Uso & Charlotte Decide
Jey Uso and Charlotte Flair won the men’s and women’s Royal Rumble matches to earn a shot at whichever champion they fancy.
Charlotte has bags of history with Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania. The two women have a victory each in championship matches against each other at WrestleMania 36 and 39.
Charlotte could decide on a rubber match, or pick Tiffany Stratton who she has no history with. A Charlotte 14x World Champion T-shirt is currently on offer for just £6 on WWE.shop.com … which suggests plans might be in the works for 15x World Champion shirt.
Jey Uso has major history with both the World Heavyweight Champion and the Undisputed WWE Champion.
Uso originally said he wanted to win the Rumble match so he could have another shot at Gunther and his World Heavyweight Championship. Uso has failed to beat the “Ring General” when it matters.
Gunther beat him at Saturday Night’s Main Event, in the King of the Ring Semi-final, and on three occasions for the Intercontinental Championship.
Uso could swerve us all and pick Cody Rhodes who he was responsible for not winning the title he now holds at WrestleMania 39. But if Uso picks Rhodes, will Roman Reigns pull a Rock and demand the title shot? Saying that will The Rock pull a Rock and demand that he faces Rhodes?
Elimination Chamber Matches
John Cena pulled rank and demanded a spot in the Elimination Chamber match after the Royal Rumble. The Elimination Chamber gives the winner a shot at whichever champion Uso doesn’t pick.
Cena will be joined by the winners of Elimination Chamber qualifying matches on WWE Raw.
Expect to see Reigns, Seth Rollins, CM Punk, Logan Paul, Penta, Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, AJ Styles, Rey Mysterio, and Damian Priest among those vying for the opportunity in the Men’s Chamber.
Drew McIntyre, who according to gossip columns, has thrown a hissy fit over his Mania Vegas plans. Could the new smiling Scot Joe Hendry take the place of the scowling Scot?
Women we can expect to see compete for whichever championship Charlotte doesn’t pick include: Alexa Bliss, Nia Jax, Naomi, Bianca Belair, Jordynne Grace, Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez, Zelina Vega and Bayley.
Also, perhaps returning Royal Rumble legends Trish Stratus and Nikki Bella might stick around to try and make the Chamber match.
With the Elimination Chamber taking place in Stratus’s hometown of Toronto surely she’ll want to make an appearance. Stratus dusted off the pink cowboy hat from her Sunday Night Heat debut at the Rumble. Hope she’s still got the Maple Leaf shorts from WrestleMania X8.
That’s all for this week’s WWE Raw preview.
