A-Town Down Under to Raw; WWE SmackDown Gets a Huge Star

Nick Aldis has been making deals to start the year off right for WWE SmackDown. First was trading away the former WWE Tag Team Champions Grayson Waller and Austin Theory, collectively known as A-Town Down Under, to WWE Raw. It seems like it, but it has not officially been declared; the duo was shipped off to Monday nights in exchange for former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest.

Suffice it to say that the acquisition of Damian Priest is a huge one for Friday Night SmackDown. Sure, it’s a big loss that they had to give up A-Town Down Under. But what they get in return is one of WWE’s biggest stars, who had a banner year in 2024. At WrestleMania XL, Priest would cash in Money in the bank after Drew McIntyre freshly won it over Seth Rollins.

Now that he’s on Friday Nights, Damian Priest sets his sights on another road to greatness. There’s a ton of things Damian Priest could do on SmackDown. Shinsuke Nakamura is holding the U.S. Championship. And then there’s the big fish in the ocean, Cody Rhodes and the Undisputed WWE Championship.

Whichever way he goes, Damian Priest will certainly be doing great things in 2025.

What do you think of Damian Priest arriving on WWE SmackDown?
