WWE SmackDown Results (1/24/25)

WWE SmackDown is once again live on the USA Network. Three segments have been announced prior to the show, making this edition of Friday night fight night all the more unpredictable. Honestly, the WWE Universe wouldn’t want it any other way. We know you’re hyped for this episode, considering tomorrow night will be WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event as well, so let’s get right into it and get this WWE SmackDown results on the road.

Here are the full WWE SmackDown results for January 24th, 2025. Let’s run it down.

Full WWE SmackDown Results – 1/24/25:

The American Nightmare Kicks off Friday Night

SmackDown kicks off with Joe Tessitore reporting the arrivals of LA Knight, Tama Tonga, Jacob Fatu, and Tiffany Stratton at the building earlier this afternoon before introducing the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes to the Austin, Texas crowd as he arrives on Friday nights to make a statement in front of the WWE Universe.

Rhodes discussed Saturday Night’s Main Event, Royal Rumble, and WrestleMania 41. He then commented on Kevin Owens’s actions when asked.

Tessitore inquired about Rhodes’ message to Owens ahead of SNME, and Rhodes stated that he might be perceived as a “nice guy,” but he shouldn’t forget that he’s the guy. He dethroned Roman Reigns at WrestleMania XL, and he has zero problems letting his darker side out.

He concluded the interview by wishing Kevin Owens all the luck in the world heading into Royal Rumble 2025.

Motor City Machine Guns vs. Pretty Deadly

For the first match of the night, out comes The Motor City Machine Guns, ready to take revenge on Pretty Deadly. As expected, MCMG, right off the gate, came on strong. But to many’s surprise, Pretty Deadly came to play and showcased a deadlier (pun intended) side.

Kit Wilson and Elton Prince dominated the match, but MCMG powered through to come out on top and hit Skull and Bones to dispatch the boys.

Backstage Development:

We see The Miz talking to Nick Aldis, and the SmackDown GM notified the “Awesome One’ that, via the WWE Transfer Portal, he will now be on Friday nights. Miz was not at all happy about it since he needed to deal with The Wyatt Sicks once again.

K.O. Goes Off

Kevin Owens got in Joe Tessitore’s face, stating he was playing favorites and interviewing only Cody Rhodes. After that, he had choice words for movie star Matthew McConaughey, who was in attendance for the event. Jimmy Uso hit the ring and unloaded on Owens prior to the beatdown, saying, “He talked too much.” Botchamania fans, rejoice!

This scuffle led to Uso challenging K.O. to a match.

Chelsea Green & Piper Niven vs. Michin & B-Fab

The two teams traded blows, with both sides giving it their all. Chelsea Green was caught, and the match ended quickly, as Michin secured the pinfall victory after hitting Eat Defeat.

Backstage Development:

Carmelo Hayes was in Nick Aldis’ office, upset that his match with Jimmy Uso was nixed due to the Uce challenging Kevin Owens later in the night. Aldis came up with an alternative solution and opponent for Melo in the form of former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest.

After the break, we get a video package hyping up Charlotte Flair’s return. The next segment will feature Tiffany Stratton.

Tiffy (Out Of) Time?

Tiffany Stratton spoke to the WWE Universe, saying that she’s more than ready to take on all comers, especially the woman who will compete and win the 2025 Royal Rumble. Not long after running her mouth, Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley came out, stating that she’s also an option and a better one for whoever wins the Royal Rumble.

With the two champions in the ring. hunters for their title would surround the squared circle. Nia Jax, Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez, Bianca Belair, and Naomi all would declare for the 30-Woman bout. Chaos ensued not long after, setting up a 6-Woman Tag Team Match between Belair, Naomi, and Ripley, taking on Morgan, Jax, and LeRae, with Rodriguez serving as enforcer at ringside.

After an expectedly hectic 6-Woman bout, Bianca Belair would hoist up Candice LeRae for the K.O.D. Still, Belair took her eye off the ball, leading to Morgan capitalizing on the opportunity as the legal competitor, getting rolled up by the former Women’s World Champion for the pin.

Johnny Gargano vs. Apollo Crews

Another quick match with fun action. Tommaso Ciampa got involved, allowing Johnny Gargano to pick up the victory in a swift fashion.

LA Knight vs. Tama Tonga

Next up is one of the most anticipated matches of the week: Tama Tonga taking on the “Megastar” LA Knight. To no one’s surprise, these two went all out, having an extremely physical match. At the end of the bout, Knight was on the verge of winning when Jacob Fatu would try to interfere.

Knight would ward off the attack and quickly turned his attention back to Tama Tonga. One kick and a BFT later, LA Knight came out victorious. Immediately after the match, Fatu would go haywire, beating down a spent LA Knight. Just in time, Braun Strowman would hit the ring to confront Jacob Fatu and stop the assault.

The two big men stared each other down ahead of their match at tomorrow night’s Saturday Night’s Main Event PLE. Strowman quickly got the upper hand. Jacob Fatu wanted to retaliate and keep the fight going. However, Tonga restrained him, knowing he had work to do this weekend.

Damian Priest vs. Carmelo Hayes

It’s official: Damian Priest is now on SmackDown. In his first match on Friday nights, he took on Carmelo Hayes. The match between these two single-handedly stole the show. Melo took his best shots against the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion. However, Priest proved to be too much.

After a hard-hitting contest, Damian Priest got the advantage in a stunner, hitting South of Heaven to pin Carmelo Hayes in his SmackDown debut match.

Backstage Development:

After winning a series of tag bouts, Motor City Machine Guns informed #DIY that they would be challenging for the WWE Tag Team Titles at the Royal Rumble in a 2 out of 3 Falls Match. We also see Damian Priest backstage getting welcomed by Cody Rhodes. Damian Priest also made it explicitly clear he was gunning for the title sooner rather than later. Next up, we got the main event between Kevin Owens and Jimmy Uso.

Jimmy Uso vs. Kevin Owens

This contest was chaotic even before the bell rang. Carmelo Hayes would attack Jimmy Uso as he was making his entrance, and then Kevin Owens would add insult to injury by wearing a Naomi shirt to the ring to taunt the former Tag team Champion. While starting on the back foot, Jimmy Uso came close to pulling off the win.

Unfortunately, his left shoulder gave out on him at the worst possible time. Owens worked over the arm all match long. As Uso ascended the top rope to hit a Uso Splash, Owens would get on the offensive, battering the arm. Moments and a Pop-Up Powerbomb later, Kevin Owens came out of the main event victorious.

Owens, not satisfied with his win, continued the assault, at least he tried to. Cody Rhodes would once again be on hand to stop this violent smacking, giving the “Prized Fighter” a taste of his own medicine. Cody Rhodes stood tall at the end of the night, concluding the WWE SmackDown results for this Friday night.

That’s all for the WWE SmackDown results for January 24th, 2025. How did you find the show?
