WWE NXT Deadline 2024: Oba Femi Wins the Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge

The Men’s Iron Survivor Match kicked off the night for WWE NXT Deadline 2024, and as the WWE Universe expected, it more than lived up to the hype.

The field of five was complete heading into the match—that is, until an hour before the event when Eddy Thorpe was found laid out backstage.

As we now know, his replacement turned out to be Oba Femi, the dominant, longest-reigning former NXT North American Champion, who absolutely wrecked shop when he entered last with 10 minutes to go, scoring 3 points overall.

Oba Femi managed to pull the win off on this night, but it was extremely close. He had less than 30 seconds to score two more falls to get ahead of Ethan Page and Je’Von Evans, and he did.

With a Double Chokeslam on Wes Lee and Nathan Frazer, Femi scored two falls simultaneously, effectively setting a date to potentially win the NXT Championship at NXT: New Year’s Evil exactly a month from tonight.

Evans was so close, but the clock was his enemy. With 10 seconds to go, Je’Von hit a Flying Cutter on Oba Femi, but he did not have enough time to cover the monster to knot it up at three-a-piece, which would’ve sent this match into Sudden Death.

As you can see, it was quite the match from beginning to end. After all the chaos, Oba Femi emerged victorious at start of WWE NXT Deadline 2024.
