Over the past couple of years, it seems like NWA Powerrr, the National Wrestling Alliance’s weekly television program, has been knocked out of the collective consciousness of professional wrestling fans. However, if you’re not watching the one-hour show on YouTube, you’re missing out on more than a couple of great things from the NWA’s flagship program.
If you’re thinking about getting into NWA Powerr again and want to know why you should, and you should, here are some excellent reasons to once again revisit the legacy promotion’s spectacular program.
The Women’s Division
Sarasota needs a makeover😖
Thank goodness Pretty Empowered is coming!@KenziePaige_1 @ellaenvypro https://t.co/wGRKjHSxTj pic.twitter.com/lIaGHYh2J3— Kylie 👸🏼 (@kyliealexxa) September 28, 2023
Compared to other promotions in North America, the size of the NWA Women’s Division may pale in comparison. That said, it doesn’t mean it’s not filled with amazing talent. You have the likes of Kenzie Paige, Max The Impaler, Kamille, Ruthie Jay, Kylie Paige, Ella Envy, Natalia Markova, Missa Kate, Madi, and a lot more bringing you some of the most crisp and action-packed matches any fan of wrestling could ever hope for.
A couple of weeks ago on NWA Powerrr, the three-way between Ruthie Jay, Missa Kate, and Natalia Markova was one heck of a show-stealer. From start to finish, the bout did not let up and is a must-see match if you want to know what the NWA Women’s Division is all about.
We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the spectacular stable known as Pretty Empowered. Back at NWA 75, the group ushered in a new era for the promotion’s Women’s division, and they’re consistently one of the best parts of the program.
The Tag Team Division
Another great aspect that most fans of old-school wrestling, or just wrestling in general, would love is the promotion’s loaded tag team division. Teams like Blunt Force Trauma, La Rebelión, Brothers of Funstruction, Knox and Murdoch, Daisy Kill and Talos, and The Southern 6 among others are bringing back the prestige of the doubles division.
Every week, there’s no shortage of vintage ‘rasslin tag brawls to sink your teeth into. With a healthy roster of teams and two sets of tag straps, NWA Powerrr is the show you watch when you want your fill of the best tag team wrestling in the US.
Match Style & Aesthetic
If you love your wrestling packed with loads of grit and none of the complications, then NWA Powerrr is the show you should be watching. The 15th season of the Tuesday night show masterfully brings back the nostalgic feel of studio wrestling that the promotion popularized back in their heyday, and also what made the NWA standout when came back roughly four years ago. As for the action, NWA Powerrr has everything you could ever want.
Fancy some excellent display of technical expertise and high-flying action? The Jr. Heavyweight Division has got you covered. Want a combination of both and a lot more? The Women’s Division offers powerhouses, grapplers, and technicians. Suppose you want the traditional “Face vs. Heel” dynamic that classic wrestling brought. The NWA Worlds Heavyweight Title picture has loads of it.
So, if you’re not watching NWA Powerrr, what are you doing? Hop on YouTube every Tuesday at 6:05 PM and get your fix of the legacy promotion’s brand of professional wrestling
