AEW continues its debut trek of the Footprint Center of Phoenix, Arizona. A notable venue, it was home to various WWE events including Judgment Day 2006 with that year’s finals of the King Of The Ring. Which was of course won by none other than “ALL HAIL….. KING BOOKER!” It was also the venue of the 2003 edition of Summerslam, with the second-ever Elimination Chamber match,  andthe 2013 Royal Rumble with John Cena’s second win and The Rock defeating CM Punk to end his 434-day title reign as WWE Champion. Let’s take a look at the AEW Rampage card tonight!

AEW Rampage Card for February 24, 2023

Murderhawk Monster On The Loose

Announced for Rampage this week is none other than Lance Archer, who has not been too featured in AEW lately. Instead, he’s been used as the AEW representative in New Japan events, most notably the G-1 Climax last fall. Without a doubt, this has to be to set him up for a bigger match later down the line.

We Hear From Keith Lee and Dustin Rhodes

After a long absence caused by Swerve Strickland, Keith Lee returned last week to stare down his former Tag Team partner. At the same time, Dustin Rhodes has not been pleased with Swerve’s seeming dislike of second-generation wrestlers. He’s tried to get at Swerve, only to be stopped by the Mogul Affiliates. Tonight on Rampage, both men are set to speak. Given that this is billed as one segment, it’s likely both will talk together and likely set up a match to discard of the Mogul Affiliate problem to clear the path towards revenge at Swerve Strickland.

Women’s Action

The ever-popular Willow Nightingale has a tall task ahead of her as she is set to face off against the former Women’s World Champion, Toni Storm. Toni and Saraya have had a crusade against all AEW-born female talent. And while Willow may technically have been brought up in Ring Of Honor, the connection to AEW is obvious.

Time For High Flying

The Jericho Appreciation Society vs Action Andretti/Ricky Starks feud continues. As Action Andretti goes head to head with Chris Jericho’s number one guy, Sammy Guevara. It’s a genuine question of who will win here. We’ve seen Action Andretti’s upsets. But we’ve also seen the JAS do whatever is necessary to win. Will we get a standard affair between the two? Will shenanigans occur? Who comes out ahead here?

Tag Team Dream Match

Two-thirds of the AEW Trios Champions see action. It’s The Young Bucks taking on visitors from New Japan in the form of Aussie Open. We already saw these two teams meet with their respective plus ones, Kenny Omega and Will Ospreay back in the summer when the Trios Tournament went on. But now it’s back to good old-fashioned classic tag team action.

Aussie Open have been on fire since last year, so too have the Young Bucks. However, Aussie Open have been primarily acting as a Tag Team, whereas the Young Bucks as a Trio with Kenny Omega. The dynamic shift already plagued them weeks ago against Top Flight. Will it do so again tonight? Guess we’ll have to tune in to TNT tonight to find out.
