Atticus Cogar Billie Starkz GCW Believe Me

A Rematch Months in the Making

Atticus Cogar and Billie Starkz have crossed paths on a few occasions, and at GCW Believe Me, they will do so once more in singles action. Their first encounter dates back to October 2020, when they competed in the Clusterf*ck Battle Royal at Joey Janela’s Spring Break 4. One year later, at Unsanctioned Pro 15, they faced off in their first one-on-one match, which was won by Cogar. Finally, earlier this year at GCW Die 4 This, they competed in the DO or DIE Rumble for a shot at the GCW World Championship. Though they’ve been part of a few matches, seldom have they been focused on one another. This will change come Saturday.

In terms of in-ring styles, Cogar and Starkz couldn’t be more different. Cogar lives up to his devilish moniker of “Silver Teeth Satan,” engaging in hardcore brutality, including the utilization of his signature skewer bundles. He’s also shown to have no qualms about threatening names from the past, illustrated by his recent run-ins with Sabu in GCW. Meanwhile, the blue-haired Starkz boasts a bubblier, more upbeat presence. She aims to shoot for the stars, and given her nickname of “Space Jesus,” this should come as little surprise. See who emerges victorious at GCW Believe Me.

Mascara Dorada vs Joey Janela

The Bad Boy Meets The King of the Ropes

From Ricky Morton to Minoru Suzuki to, most recently, Matt Cardona, it would seem that everyone steps up to “The Bad Boy” eventually. It’s easy to see why, though, as Joey Janela remains one of the names most synonymous with Game Changer Wrestling. He is, without question, one of the most beloved names among the GCW faithful due to his charisma and risk-taking approach alike. Furthermore, over the past several months, Janela worked hard to get himself in better physical shape, looking leaner and more capable of taking on the most formidable of opponents. “The Bad Boy” will expect exactly the latter at GCW Believe Me, as he battles the returning Máscara Dorada.

Having made his GCW debut earlier this month at Fight Club 2: Houston, it’s fair to say that Dorada familiarized himself with the promotion in quick fashion. Also known as “The King of the Ropes,” the masked marvel is renowned for his ability inside of the ropes. When the bell sounds, there are few that can keep up with his wrestling style. His reputation is buoyed by various accolades as well, including a record-setting 4 World Welterweight Championship reigns in Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL). Dorada will step into this Saturday’s event to take on a new opponent in Janela. See who emerges victorious in what should be an interesting contrast of styles.

Alex Colon Reed Bentley GCW Believe Me

A Heated GCW Ultraviolent Title Encounter

In recent months, Alex Colon has had his issues with John Wayne Murdoch. This stems from this past November, when Colon emerged victorious in the Nick Gage Invitational 6 tournament. What should be a celebratory moment for the GCW Ultraviolent Champion was soured when he was viciously attacked by Murdoch, who made his intentions of winning championship gold apparent. Since then, Colon and Murdoch had multiple physical encounters, including a title match which Colon won at Die 4 This this past January. Later that month, at The WRLD on GCW, Murdoch prevented Colon from winning the Grab the Brass Ring Ladder Match. It can’t be argued that bad blood still exists.

At GCW Believe Me, Colon will learn that when he steps to one man, he steps to the latter’s tag team partner. Enter Reed Bentley, who many indie wrestling fans will know as Murdoch’s tag partner; together, they are The Rejects. They won tag team gold in multiple organizations, including IWA Mid-South, Paradigm Pro Wrestling, and GCW. As a solo wrestler, Bentley is accomplished in the hardcore scene, recently capturing ICW No Holds Barred’s American Deathmatch Championship. This Saturday, Bentley has the opportunity to add more singles gold to his collection when he challenges the GCW Ultraviolent Champion. Who will leave Atlantic City with the gold?

GCW Believe Me will take place in Atlantic City, New Jersey on February 19, 2022.
