Austin Theory Drafted Monday Night Raw

In the final draft pick of tonight’s edition of Friday Night SmackDown, another NXT Superstar made their way to the main roster. Earlier in the night, it was confirmed that Hit Row will be SmackDown-bound. As for Monday Night Raw, WWE official Adam Pearce made the announcement that Austin Theory has been drafted to the red brand. Keep in mind that this will mark his return to Raw since June of 2020, when he was a disciple of Seth Rollins alongside Murphy. Theory’s new role on Raw remains to be seen.

Up until now, Austin Theory has been an NXT Superstar, consistently appearing on the former black-and-gold brand since August of last year. Later that year, he joined forces with Johnny Gargano; this brought rise to the group known as The Way, which included the two men in addition to former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Indi Hartwell and Candice LeRae. Theory’s last appearance took place during Hartwell and Dexter Lumis‘s wedding, where he presented the rings with assistance from Ikemen Jiro.

In addition to his continued work in WWE, Austin Theory saw success across the independent scene since his professional debut in 2016. He was particularly involved in World Wrestling Network affiliates. Theory became a prominent star for Evolve as well, defeating such names as Trent and Darby Allin of All Elite Wrestling fame. Theory would also win the Evolve Championship in December of 2018, holding the title for 329 days.
