AEW Beach Break Preview and Predictions are here for July 8, 2026, in Clearwater, Florida, at The BayCare Sound after an epic AEW Dynamite episode last week on July 1, where Hikaru Shida won the TBS Title and a historic AEW Forbidden Door 2026 PPV at the SAP Center in San Jose, California. On that PPV, Will Ospreay and Mercedes Moné became the 2026 Owen Hart Winners.
This means that they both earned AEW World Title opportunities at AEW All In on August 30, 2026. While they both await their title matches, the champions have some major roadblocks, including this special episode and AEW Redemption on July 26, 2026, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Without further ado, here are the AEW Beach Break Preview and Predictions for July 8, 2026.
MJF (c) vs. Kenny Omega for AEW World Title
MJF should not lose the title until All In. Still, AEW has been planting seeds for Omega to persuade Ospreay to break away from the Death Riders, making Omega vs. Ospreay a more foreseeable main event at All In. The fact that Omega said he would not get another world title shot if he loses this match indicates that he is winning to walk into his home country at AEW Redemption as champion.
Prediction: Kenny Omega
Athena vs. Maya World

This is an Owen Hart Tournament rematch. It was initially puzzling as to why Athena lost to Maya World in the semifinals and failed to go to the finals to battle Mercedes Moné in a marquee match in the finals. Now, Athena can get her comeuppance with a victory over the underdog in what should be a long-winded methodology for Athena to regain her momentum at the top of the card.
Prediction: Athena
Konosuke Takeshita (c) vs. Kyle Fletcher for AEW International Title

When Konosuke Takeshita won the International Title from Kazuchika Okada at AEW Double or Nothing and broke away from the Don Callis Family, Kyle Fletcher returned and attacked Takeshita to target the International Title. Fletcher is essential to the Don Callis Family, so he is defending their honor against a rebellious traitor. Since Takeshita just won the belt, he won’t lose it this soon.
Prediction: Konosuke Takeshita
Chris Jericho vs. Tommaso Ciampa
Chris Jericho has been phoning it in since returning, and it has been shown in his rivalry with Ricochet and even with Ciampa. He called Ricochet bald and decided to do the same with Ciampa, who has been trying to steal Jericho’s multitude of gimmicks. It seems that Jericho’s rivals are getting the upper hand early, so Ciampa will win to regain momentum after losing the TNT Title to Fletcher.
Prediction: Tommaso Ciampa
