WWE Clash in Italy 2026 Predictions are here for May 31, this Sunday. WWE decided to book a ton of rematches from WrestleMania, Backlash, and even the SNME that occurred this past Saturday for this event. The only “fresh” match on this European Tour is the WWE Title match between Cody Rhodes and Gunther.
Granted, they did battle once at Crown Jewel 2024, where Rhodes won, but this is their first time feuding in an actual storyline. Here are the official WWE Clash in Italy 2026 Predictions.
WWE Clash in Italy Predictions (5/31/26)
Roman Reigns (c) vs. Jacob Fatu – World Title “Tribal Combat.”
The Bloodline story has been dragging on for quite a while now, and it’s inevitably become stale. It’s like watching an episode of “Teen Titans! Go!” They both have three things in common: (1) excessive reliance on past nostalgic glory, (2) inconsistencies in character development, and (3) overexposure of the narrative itself.

As the original Teen Titans show, the Bloodline story that ran with Sami Zayn and Paul Heyman from 2020 to 2023 was cinematic. However, like “Teen Titans! Go!,” this new Bloodline story is like an awful rerun of a Spider-Man movie that should have culminated years ago.
The antithetical pivots in this storyline have become ineffective and come across as a contrived method to extend a storyline that has already lost its steam.
Jacob Fatu should not be treated like The Usos and fall in line at the behest of Roman Reigns when he has proven to be a leader of the locker room who does not need Bloodline to fight his battles for him and does not have to follow Roman Reigns’ orders to succeed. WWE needs to strike while the iron is hot at WWE Clash in Italy with Fatu and not creatively stifle him.
Prediction: Jacob Fatu
Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Jade Cargill – Women’s WWE Title Match
While it is reasonable for WWE to book a Backlash rematch between Roman Reigns and Jacob Fatu to put an end to a feud with a special stipulation like Tribal Combat, it is inexcusable for WWE to wait this long to book a WrestleMania rematch between Rhea Ripley and Jade Cargill without a special stipulation.
Cargill has a rematch clause, and she could have invoked it in her hometown at Backlash. Rhea Ripley could have had fresh matchups as the champion in Italy, such as Blake Monroe, Lash Legend, or Jacy Jayne.
However, since those upstart heel contenders still need to be built up and there are more credible, established babyface challengers and former World Champions like Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss, and Tiffany Stratton already in the fray, Cargill should win the title back to set up those marquee matches.
Granted, Cargill should not have lost the championship in the first place, as she has a faction to solidify with Michin and B-Fab. She may not be taken seriously as a leader of that nascent group if she doesn’t have the big chip.
Prediction: Jade Cargill
Oba Femi vs. Brock Lesnar
Speaking of unpalatable WrestleMania rematches, WWE has marketed this WWE Clash in Italy rematch between Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar as “the biggest rematch in pro wrestling history.” How many eye rolls occurred at that bizarre advertisement? Femi already slayed The Beast on the biggest stage of them all, and Lesnar took off his boots and gloves in the ring to symbolize his retirement.
That emotional moment was an effective way to turn him babyface and give him an opportunity to win back the fans on his way out the door.
Instead of booking him to battle top heels like Bron Breakker or Gunther in dream matches on the road to SummerSlam, WWE distastefully made that emotional retirement moment a ruse to turn him heel again in a rematch with Femi, who is already popular with the fanbase as a top babyface.
Hence, this rematch is eminently unnecessary. It is easy to surmise that Brock will get his lick back with a win here and set up a trilogy, but that would nullify the impact Femi’s ‘Mania 42 victory had against Lesnar. He should not lose.
Prediction: Oba Femi
Becky Lynch (c) vs. Sol Ruca – Women’s Intercontinental Title Match
Although this is technically a Saturday Night Main Event rematch, that match at SNME this past Saturday was more of a teaser than a match. It was basically an appetizer before the full course meal due to the DQ finish.
Albeit a clever way to get to this title match while keeping both women looking strong, it would have been smarter to merely book Ruca in a number-one contender’s match against other hungry contenders so that she can earn her shot against Lynch at Clash in Italy without making Lynch take a loss as champ.
Nonetheless, this is a must-win situation for Ruca. She has already picked up two losses on Raw to Liv Morgan and Iyo Sky, and her only victory was against Becky Lynch, and it was not even clean. If Ruca is going to prove that she belongs with the sharks in the deep sea, she needs to do more than surf.
During her title run, Lynch put over Maxxine Dupri, generously using the InterContinental Title to highlight young talent. Unlike Dupri, Ruca is worth the investment. WWE should not hesitate to pull the trigger on this one.
Prediction: Sol Ruca
Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Gunther – Undisputed WWE Title
Cody Rhodes and Gunther should be the main event of WWE Clash in Italy. It is classy to close the show with a European in a big title match since this is taking place on European soil. Roman Reigns already main-evented Backlash in his hometown of Tampa, Florida.
It’s only fair to spread the wealth and give the other world title some well-deserved spotlight. Unfortunately, backstage politics can harm the product. If WWE really wants to follow AEW Double or Nothing 2026, it should close with this match.
Since Rhodes won their match at Crown Jewel in 2024, Gunther should redeem himself. It would be a great way to solidify his trade from Raw to SmackDown, just like it would be great for Fatu to solidify his trade from SmackDown to Raw when he dethrones Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Title.
Like Becky Lynch, Rhodes shows immense magnanimity towards his rivals in his storylines and feuds. Despite being at the top for so long, he highlighted top guys like Drew McIntyre. The same can be done for Gunther here.
Prediction: Gunther
