TNA Thursday Night iMPACT Review (5/14/26) – Shatter History, Trust the System

Boricua Time and Milan Miracle

TNA World Champion Mike Santana was ready to take on Eric Young after the Battle Royal earlier. Director of Operations Daria Rae interrupted Santana and announced that Young is not his next contender for the title. Steve Maclin is officially medically cleared for in-ring action, and next week, Steve Maclin and TNA World Champion Mike Santana will face off for the title. Director of Authority Santino Marella arrived and made a Milan Miracle: Indi Hartwell has officially re-signed with TNA Wrestling.

Rosemary and Allie, undead and kicking

Rosemary bit Mila Moore, and while the referee was distracted, Allie bit Moore too. Allie and Rosemary took Moore and Crawford to the Upside Down. Tessa Blanchard tried to interfere, and Mara Sadé prevented it. Allie threw Moore down into the steel steps and took her out on the outside. Rosemary crushed Victoria Crawford with the As Above so Below, went for the cover, and secured the pinfall.

Tying, not breaking

Before the match, Gia Miller was backstage with TNA X-Division Champion Leon Slater. He was confident and ready to become the youngest and greatest. The Hardys joined Slater to show their support and were ready to see him become legendary. On the System’s side, Edwards confirmed they attacked Moose last week. Cedric Alexander said that there would be no fairy-tale ending for Leon Slater.

The match was as good as we could have expected, thanks to Slater and Alexander’s chemistry. It was a Styles Clash and a Lumbar Check fest. Slater scored the first fall pretty fast, but Alexander then worked on Slater’s spine, dropping him spine-first off the edge of the apron. Cedric Alexander dropped Slater with a Michinoku Driver. Slater charged at Alexander, and Alexander answered with a Lumbar Check. Alexander scored his first fall.

Slater slammed him down with a Super Styles Clash off the second rope. Alexander sent Slater headfirst into the steel steps. He unloaded a flurry of BrainBusters and Lumbar Checks to get the second fall. To quote Matthew Rehwoldt, “The Youngest in Charge has been relieved from his duty.” As Alexander was about to have the belt from TNA President Carlos Silva’s hands, the lights went out, and former NXT Champion Fabian Aichner walked down the ramp.
