WWE WrestleMania 42 – Night 1 Results (4/18/26):

6-Man Tag Team Match

To begin the show, a 6-Man Tag Team Match between iShowSpeed, Austin Theory and Logan Paul vs. The Usos and LA Knight. It was quick tags from the get-go, but the combination of the World Tag Team Champions and the “Megastar” was too much.

After a significant back-and-forth battle, iShowSpeed would hit a Head Scissors on Jimmy Uso. Knight would try to hit BFT on iShowSpeed, for the social media star to push him off, accidentally sending him to Logan Paul, knocking him off the apron.

Knight would pick up the win by hitting Theory with the BFT, as Theory was distracted from yelling at iShowSpeed after the incident.

Post-match, Paul would blame iShowSpeed for the loss. Before he got his backside handed to him, Knight and The Usos would come in for the assist, hitting Logan with the 1D. Speed would scale the top-rope, delivering a viral Frog Splash on Logan Paul through the announcer’s table.

Unsanctioned Match: Drew McIntyre vs. Jacob Fatu

Drew McIntyre and Jacob Fatu finally settle their differences in an Unsanctioned Match. Suffice it to say, it was a good thing WWE cleaned its hands off this brawl, because McIntyre and Fatu went all out. A toolbox was involved and even a whip, with McIntyre using the latter to assault Fatu, even hitting him with Claymore after a significant lashing.

In the end, Fatu was way too much for McIntyre. Even after going through a violent tumble through a set of tables on the outside, Fatu would recover, strike McIntyre with the toolbox and hit a Mighty Moonsault to end this rivalry finally.

WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Match – Fatal 4-Way

For the first championship match of WrestleMania 42 – Night 1, the Irresistible Forces defend the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship against Lyra Valkyria and Bayley, Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair, and The Bella Twins.

The Bella Twins made their entrance last. Reports around Nikki Bella being injured were true, with Nikki saying she tried really hard to come back. But, she didn’t want to spoil Brie’s WrestleMania moment, so she enlisted someone’s help, as a returning Paige takes over Nikki’s spot.

It was chaotic with all teams competing for position. At one point, no one knew who the legal competitor was, but everyone had one in mind in this arena: tag in Paige. Once Paige was in, the Allegiant Stadium erupted, and Paige cleaned house.

Paige even rekindled her rivalry with Charlotte Flair. In the end, Paige and Brie Bella were too much to handle, and before we knew it, we had #AndNEW WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.

Women’s Intercontinental Championship Match

Getting played out by the Wonder Years, “The Man” Becky Lynch heads into battle looking to regain the Women’s Intercontinental Title, and once and for all, end this blood feud against AJ Lee.

Lynch controlled most of the match, but was taken aback by Jessika Carr’s presence as referee, so that AJ Lee almost had her dead to rights on more than one occasion. But if “The Man” knows anything about anything, it’s winning, and Lynch would pull out every dirty tactic, and become #AndNEW WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion by hitting the Manhandle Slam after a controversial move.

Gunther vs. Seth Rollins

The time is now here, two of the best WWE has to offer step into the squared circle as Seth Rollins and Gunther have their monstrous dream match. This match went from 0-10, as the two brawled in and out of the ring before the bell even rang. Gunther would then assume control, dominating Seth Rollins.

Despite all of that, both men were gassed. But Seth Rollins found it in himself to hit a Pedigree and a Stomp, but Gunther would kick out. Gunther would lock in a Sleeper Hold after countering an O’Connor Roll, which Rollins would get out of. Gunther would scale the top rope, only for Rollins to run up and hit a Superplex, followed by a Falcon Arrow.

Rollins would lock Gunther in his own Sleeper, but Gunther would squirm out of the ring. Rollins was desperate, choosing to hit Multiple Suicide Dives. Seth had this in the bag, but Gunther would counter with two Powerbombs on the apron and then the announce table. Gunther was looking to finish this all off, putting Rollins on the announcer’s table. Rollins would counter with the Pedigree, followed by a Stomp on the commentary desk.

Seth Rollins has accomplished it; he has beaten Gunther. He only had to make it official by putting him in the ring and pinning him. Unfortunately, a ghost of Rollin’s past would come back and cost him the match. Gunther would pick up the carcass, lock Rollins in a Sleeper Hold, making him pass out.

Women’s World Championship Match

The penultimate match of Night 1 of WrestleMania 42 comes at us, as Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer defends the title against 2026 Women’s Royal Rumble winner, Liv Morgan. Befitting of Las Vegas, Nevada, Liv Morgan would come out and perform on the way out to her title match, accompanied by back-up dancers and an unforgettable on-the-spot wardrobe change.

Morgan was like a house on fire tonight, taking control of the situation for most of the bout. Vaquer would not go away easily, eating an ObLIVion in one part of the match. But the involvement of The Judgment Day, Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez would prove to be too much. Morgan would capitalize on the numbers game and defeat Stephanie Vaquer to become #AndNEW Women’s World Champion.

After the match, John Cena would announce WrestleMania 42’s attendance count, as well as a major return for the “EST of WWE,” making her own huge announcement.

Undisputed WWE Championship Match

Night 1 of WrestleMania 42 concludes with the extremely personal war for the Undisputed WWE Championship between former friends and brothers Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton, who Pat McAfee accompanies. Before the bell even rang, McAfee would hit Rhodes with a microphone, temporarily incapacitating him. Cody would take Randy out of the equation, then put McAfee on the announcer’s table.

After the fact, out comes Jelly Roll, delivering a devastating Splash onto McAfee, destroying the commentary desk. From that point on, Rhodes would maul Randy Orton, focusing on his back and kidneys, leaving “The Viper” struggling for most of the match. A significant moment came when Cody Rhodes hit a Disaster Kick on a bloodied Orton, smearing his blood on his chest, signaling that Rhodes listened to the voices in his head.

That said, Orton is not yet gone, hitting Rhodes with a Cross Rhodes, almost nabbing a pinfall. Randy went on the offensive, looking to punt Cody Rhodes in the head, only to be met by an RKO via Cody Rhodes, but Orton would kick out once again. The two went at it until Cody poked Randy in the eye, leaving Orton blind for a moment.

Orton did not know who he was next to, only feeling a body, and he ended up delivering an RKO to Charles Robinson unknowingly. Cody would hit him with a low blow and run the ropes and hit a Super Cody Cutter, but was met by a highlight reel RKO. With no one to count the fall, we see Pat McAfee, in a neck brace, run to the ring with the Zebra stripes on, to make the count.

McAfee counted, and Cody still managed to get out of it. An irate Orton would RKO Pat McAfee, signaling he is in it for himself, but that left him exposed to a Cross Rhodes, allowing Cody to remain Undisputed WWE Champion. The night did not end happily, though, as Orton would do the unthinkable to a man he once called his brother, concluding WrestleMania – Night 1 on a somber note.

That’s all for REAL-TIME WWE WrestleMania 42 – Night 1 results for April 18, 2026, as they happened from the Allegiant Stadium in “Sin City” Las Vegas, Nevada. We’ll see you tomorrow night for WrestleMania –  Night 2!
