Elimination Chamber 2013 (New Orleans, Louisiana)
The 2013 Elimination Chamber match featured six competitors battling for the chance to challenge World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio at WrestleMania 29.
The match included Jack Swagger, accompanied by his manager Zeb Colter, Chris Jericho, Mark Henry, Randy Orton, Kane, and Daniel Bryan. Orton entered as the fifth contestant, while Henry entered last as the final man in the matchup.
The highlight of the match came from Henry, who dominated everyone the moment he entered the contest. He eliminated Bryan and, most notably, threw Orton through the plexiglass of one of the pods, showcasing his incredible strength.
Despite being thrown through the plexiglass, Orton turned it up a notch by eliminating two opponents in the high-stakes contest. His first elimination was a triple team effort: a Big Boot from Swagger, followed up by a Codebreaker from Jericho, and finally an RKO from Orton to eliminate “The World’s Strongest Man,” Mark Henry.
Minutes later, as Orton battled Jericho and Swagger, he secured his second and most significant elimination by catching Jericho with an RKO. But just as things were getting hot for “The Viper,” the momentum went cold; Swagger immediately rolled him up for the pinfall while Orton was still recovering from the RKO he had just delivered.
This match stands out because Orton delivered a masterclass in storytelling and selling, particularly during his brutal collisions with Mark Henry. It remains a fan favorite for his chemistry with Chris Jericho and the shocking, lightning-fast finish that proved Orton could dominate a match even if he didn’t walk away with the win.
