Singles Matches that Closed Out WWE Elimination Chamber PLEs, Ranked

WrestleMania 42 is quickly approaching, but there is one roadblock that the WWE stars must go through. Before WrestleMania, there is the WWE Elimination Chamber PLE. Usually, the Elimination Chamber has a themed match for both the men and women.

The winners of those matches will receive a championship match at WrestleMania. Usually, these matches close out the shows, but there were times when singles matches headlined the events. On six different occasions, the main event revolved either around a championship bout or a grudge match in which titles weren’t involved. Here are the ranked singles matches that closed out the Elimination Chamber PLEs.

#6: Drew McIntyre vs. The Miz – WWE Championship (Elimination Chamber 2021)

When Drew McIntyre was WWE Champion at the start of 2021, he had a rough road to WrestleMania, where he was put to the test as champion. At the Royal Rumble, McIntyre had to overcome Goldberg to retain his title.

Then, he had to defend his championship in the destructive Elimination Chamber Match. McIntyre was against all former WWE Champions, including Randy Orton, AJ Styles, Sheamus, Jeff Hardy, and Kofi Kingston. Being the resilient wrestler McIntyre is, he prevailed by last eliminating Styles to retain his gold.

Unfortunately for McIntyre, his night wasn’t over just yet. He unexpectedly got attacked by Bobby Lashley, who was already in a bad mood after losing his WWE United States Championship earlier in the show.

This attack led The Miz to rush to the ring to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase. Miz capitalized on a vulnerable McIntyre to become WWE Champion once again. Although this was an impromptu Money in the Bank cash-in, it’s still a match nonetheless.
