5. 2nd WWE Universal Championship Reign (2019)
The WWE Universal Championship match between Seth Rollins and Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam 2019 was a rematch of their clash at WrestleMania 35. They opened the show at WrestleMania 35, but closed out SummerSlam. However, the result remained the same with Rollins dethroning Lesnar to become a two-time Universal Champion.
The Beast Slayer’s second run as Universal Champion saw him become a double champion briefly as he held the WWE (RAW) Tag Team Championship alongside Braun Strowman.
Unfortunately, Rollins’ second Universal Championship reign was bitterly disappointing. He retained the title against Strowman at Clash of Champions 2019, the same night they dropped the Tag Team Championship. However, Rollins entered a feud with “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt.
Illogically, there wasn’t a clear-cut winner in their Hell in a Cell match for the title. Fans booed Rollins out of the building. Furthermore, he dropped the Universal Championship to “The Fiend” at Crown Jewel 2019 in a Falls Count Anywhere match, much to the delight of the fans.
