Stephanie McMahon and Joe Tessitore welcomed everyone in New York to WWE SNME in MSG as Michael Cole and Wade Barrett introduced the first match of the evening.

WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Match

To kick us off on a high note, Fatal Influence, Lainey Reid and Fallon Henley, challenge Brie Bella and Paige for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. The match was evenly contested throughout. However, Paige and Brie Bella would go to another level, as Brie would get the hot tag late in the match to clean house.

Unfortunately, it won’t be for long, as Jacy Jayne proved to be the difference-maker, assisting her Fatal Influence big-time, allowing Lainey Reid and Fallon Henley to finally hoist the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships.

Danhausen vs. JD McDonagh

JD McDonagh looks to handle business for the Judgment Day as he takes on Danhausen in a No Disqualification match. Sporting Knicks colors and a #0 jersey provided by the team, Danhausen was ready to fight. Unfortunately, the beatdown was hard and swift, as JD McDonagh took control early. Danhausen would find it himself to fight back, even taking out Dominik Mysterio in the process.

But the two-on-one beatdown continued, with Dominik Mysterio disrespecting Danhausen and the New York Knicks throughout the match, rubbing his feet on the jersey as well as tearing it off of Danhausen’s person. JD and Dom would beat him down, only for the MiniHausens to enter the fray and keep them busy. Danhausen would run to his cloning machine, stuffing a stuffed cat in it, and lo and behold, a “KAT” did appear, helping Danhausen to even the odds.

After all the melee, Danhausen would curse them and hit JD with the 3D Inverted DDT to pick up the win in NYC.

Lyra Valkyria vs. Bayley

Lyra Valkyria, blinded by rage, looks to end Bayley as they go one-on-one. This was not a pretty match in the best way possible. As if these two weren’t the best of friends, they battered each other all over MSG. Bayley unleashed a new, more vicious and violent side tonight, taking out her anger on her former friend. Valkyria would do the same, going pound-for-pound with Bayley.

This was a straight-up fight rather than a standard match you would expect from these two stars. In the concluding moments of this match, Bayley would go for the Rose Plant and the Bayley-to-Belly, only to get stopped in her tracks by Lyra. Lyra Valkyria would whip out a new move in her arsenal, suffocating Bayley with a vicious Bully Choke, cranking it till she passed out and foaming at the mouth, with the referee calling the match due to an unconscious Bayley.

Post-match, Lyra would lock Bayley in the Bully Choke again on the outside, and destroy her former mentor by hitting Nightwing on the steel steps, effectively taking out Bayley in front of a stunned MSG crowd.

Cody Rhodes & CM Punk vs. Gunther & Sami Zayn

For the main event match of the evening, Undisputed WWE Champion CM Punk and Cody Rhodes look to keep their SummerSlam 2026 match one-on-one rather than a Fatal 4-Way, as they look to defeat Gunther and Sami Zayn. There was no pause in the action, with CM Punk even jumping Sami Zayn before the bell even rang. It was a breakneck pace, as all four would tag in and out to get their hands on one another.

At one point in the match, we saw CM Punk hit a Top Rope Elbow Drop on Sami Zayn and lock him into the Anaconda Vise. Rhodes would intercept an interfering Gunther, locking him in a Figure-Four Leglock. Gunther would rake the eyes of Punk, allowing Zayn to help him.

Zayn would hit the Exploder Suplex and Helluva Kick on Punk, only for Rhodes to hit him with a Cross Rhodes. Gunther and Zayn would fight back, but they could only give so much, as one last offense from the two would leave everyone lying, including Charles Robinson, after an errant save from Zayn to break up Rhodes’ pin on Gunther amidst all the melee. With the official down, Gunther would blast Rhodes with the Undisputed WWE Title.

A replacement official would run in, but Gunther’s actions would come back to haunt him. Before we knew it, Rhodes had him in a Cross Rhodes and made it official for SummerSlam 2026: CM Punk vs. Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship.

Roman Reigns and Jalen Brunson Meet in the Ring

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns invites the “King of New York,” All-Star Point Guard and NBA Champion Jalen Brunson to conclude WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event. Brunson and Reigns threw up their “1s” in the air as the New York crowd went ballistic.

Reigns got on the mic, saying this whole thing is about “greatness acknowledging greatness,” with Roman stating there’s only one “OTC,” and there’s only one “Captain” and Finals MVP. It’s been 40+ years since the Knicks hoisted up the chip; it’s long overdue, and Jalen Brunson was the winning piece to break the curse finally. Reigns then presented Jalen a Knicks-colored version of the WWE World Heavyweight Title, saying his journey is now complete.

Unfortunately, a certain Indiana Pacers star would not let him have his moment, teaming up with Seth Rollins to rain on his parade. Brunson would stand firm, even protecting the OTC. Once it’s all said and done, the “King of New York” and “Tribal Chief” stood in front of the New York crowd, triumphant, to send them home happy.

That’s all for REAL-TIME WWE Saturday Night Main Event results, happening on July 18, 2026, from Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York.
