#2: Chris Jericho vs. John Cena: World Heavyweight Championship (Survivor Series 2008)
John Cena had such a journey in 2008. At first, he made a miraculous return from a severe shoulder injury. Cena surprisingly returned at the Royal Rumble and ended up winning the said match. Although Cena failed to regain the WWE Title he never lost at WrestleMania, it didn’t stop him from pursuing gold later in the year.
At SummerSlam, Cena suffered another awful injury when he broke his neck during his match with Batista. With the high possibility of Cena being out again for a long time, he made another miraculous comeback three months later.
This return match for John Cena was his biggest as the event was in his home state, Massachusetts. He came back, going against Chris Jericho, and he was not going to win the match easily.
Jericho made sure he pulled all the stops, whether it involved hitting Codebreakers or persistently holding the Walls of Jericho; Cena was still able to fight through. Cena finished this brutal match by hitting Jericho with the Attitude Adjustment. This win was monumental for Cena as he became World Heavyweight Champion for the first time in his career.
