11. 3rd World Heavyweight Championship Reign (10/27/13 – 12/15/13)
John Cena and a familiar foe, Alberto Del Rio, clashed in a World Heavyweight Championship match at Hell in a Cell 2013. Cena marked his return to in-ring competition after he was ruled out of action with a shoulder injury. Nevertheless, Cena defeated Del Rio to become the World Heavyweight Champion for the third and final time in his career.
Cena retained the title in their subsequent rematch at Survivor Series. Cena faced his eternal rival, Randy Orton, in their biggest match to date at TLC 2013. Orton’s WWE Championship was on the line, as was Cena’s World Heavyweight Title. The winner is crowned as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. The Viper prevailed with the World Heavyweight Championship no more.
