3. Eddie Guerrero Vs. Kurt Angle – WWE WrestleMania 20
Undoubtedly, Eddie Guerrero and Kurt Angle are two of the greatest in-ring technical wrestlers to lace up a pair of boots. The Olympic Gold Medalist defeated Big Show and John Cena in a triple threat match at No Way Out 2004, earning the right to become the number one contender for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 20.
Leading up to their upcoming WWE Championship match, Angle turned heel once again. He was the special guest referee in Eddie’s WWE Championship match with his nephew Chavo. Afterward, Angle brutalized Latino Heat, leaving Eddie in a pool of his own blood.
Eddie’s fourth WrestleMania appearance saw him walk into WrestleMania as a champion for the first time in his legendary career. Eddie and Angle’s WWE Championship match inside Madison Square Garden didn’t fail to disappoint. The fans were locked in and fascinated to see who’d get the bragging rights and depart New York as the WWE Champion.
A home run was hit in one of the all-time excellent WWE Championship matches taking place at WrestleMania. Their match was hard-hitting as expected, with Angle cinching in the Angle Lock several times.
The Ankle Lock has brought Angle joy several times, but he wishes that he hadn’t used it at WrestleMania. Eddie outsmarted the former four-time WWE Champion by purposely removing his boot, with Angle confused as Eddie caught Angle with a small package to retain the WWE Championship.
