4. Eddie Guerrero Vs. Edge – WWE SmackDown (9/26/02)
The SmackDown Six was one of the best things about the brand split and SmackDown towards the backend of 2002. Eddie Guerrero and Edge were a third of the SmackDown Six. This was their grudge match on SmackDown’s September 26, 2002 taping. Edge defeated Eddie at SummerSlam 2002, and Eddie returned the favor at Unforgiven 2002.
Their No Disqualification match is one of the most incredible contests in SmackDown history. The atmosphere was electric with fans heavily invested in their fast-paced bout.
Edge’s well-documented neck troubles came to a head in this No Disqualification match. Edge took a brutal bump off the ladder. Unfortunately, the serious neck issues led to Edge’s retirement in 2011. Nevertheless, Edge and Eddie’s chemistry was brilliant, and fans were treated to memorable matches between the two future world champions.
Nonetheless, Eddie executed a sitout powerbomb off the ladder with Edge writhing in pain. Their match was fantastic, but Edge weathered the storm, and he nailed Eddie with a vicious Edgecution off the top of the ladder, securing the all-important victory.
