Is Now the Right Time for a Wyatt Sicks and MFT Feud in WWE?

The October 10, 2025, episode of Friday Night SmackDown was filled with exciting wrestling and excellent storyline progression. It was an exciting night for MFT for a variety of reasons. Tama Tonga returned after months away, attacking Shinsuke Nakamura in the middle of his United States Championship match. Once he did that, the rest of MFT descended upon United States Champion Sami Zayn and beat him up. But that wasn’t the end of their carnage.

The Wyatt Sicks retained their WWE Tag Team Championships against the Street Profits. As they were celebrating, MFT snuck up behind them. But they didn’t attack them like Nakamura and Zayn. They just went face-to-face, setting up a feud. The two biggest factions on SmackDown feuding will undoubtedly be entertaining. Is the timing right for this, or will feuding with each other prove to be a mistake?

The Wyatt Sicks and MFT are Currently Healthy

Both the Wyatt Sicks and MFT have struggled with injuries over the past year. Bo Dallas was out late last year until late May due to injury. That led to the faction’s prolonged absence from television. Tama Tonga, who just came back, was out since late April. For almost half the year, both factions haven’t operated at full strength. With wrestling being so unpredictable, injuries can happen at any time to anyone. That’s why it’s the right move to do the feud between them now.

All four men of both factions are healthy. Nikki Cross is as well, while it remains to be seen whether MFT will add a female member or not. There have been tons of feuds either postponed or scrapped due to an injury. WWE is making a wise decision by doing this now, knowing that everyone is healthy and can wrestle each other.

One Faction Will Suffer a Significant Loss

Since the Wyatt Sicks returned in May, they have been unstoppable in the ring. Dexter Lumis and Joe Gacy have been WWE Tag Team Champions since July, defending the belts several times. Their chemistry and communication with each other have helped them retain the belts in dominant fashion. MFT is finally at full strength after months of being short-handed with a new look. Talla Tonga, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa were called the Guerrillas of Destiny in NJPW, who used similar face paint.

With two factions in such high positions, a feud now wouldn’t be helpful. Either the Wyatts will temporarily lose their momentum after a great summer, or MFT’s triumphant return would be a waste. The timing is off due to both factions being hot right now. A feud would cool off one faction at a time, where both need wins to stay on top.

Is This a Good Decision by WWE?

After months of avoiding each other, two of SmackDown’s biggest factions, the Wyatt Sicks and MFT, are about to collide. However, people might be on the fence about this decision. On the one hand, all members of both factions are currently healthy. Due to injuries to Dallas and Tama, both had operated short-handed for several months this year. With the nature of injuries, the timing is right due to everyone being healthy. But on the other hand, both factions are gaining momentum for different reasons.

The Wyatt Sicks have been WWE Tag Team Champions for months. MFT, now at full strength, showed everyone they are an unstoppable force earlier in the night. A loss would stop their momentum at a time when they need a win. Either way, it looks like the Wyatt Sicks and MFT will enter into an entertaining and exciting feud.
