TNA iMPACT After The Bell (8/7/25) – Welcome Back, Rich Swann

The Path to TNA Bound For Glory has started. This long path until the October 12 PLE will have two PLE stops: Emergence on August 15, and Victory Road on September 26. So, many things could happen until Bound For Glory. This includes TNA iMPACT and NXT every week, as well as PLEs.

The preview was clear. Emergence is just one week away, and it was time to build more matches to give it a card. Like last week, this episode was all about action, with five matches announced, including two title bouts. Let’s Nygma-dive into the episode, as there are some things to say about it (as always).

TNA iMPACT Results (8/7/25)

  • TNA International Title Match: Steve Maclin (c) vs. Jake Something – Double Count Out
  • Léi Ying Lee & Xia Brookside defeated The Elegance Brand (Heather By Elegance & M By Elegance)
  • Mara Sadè defeated Vicious Vicki
  • TNA Knockouts World Title Match: Ash By Elegance defeated Jacy Jayne (c) by DQ
  • Mustafa Ali defeated Joe Hendry

The Nygma’s View

Crystal Clear

One of the easily predictable things was why TNA World Champion NXT’s Trick Williams was kicking off iMPACT. Of course, he was there to talk about Emergence and his match against Moose. As usual, Williams disrespected his opponent. But Moose interrupted him and immediately went for the Spear, but Williams escaped. Nygma says: They are supposed to team up on Tuesday on NXT, but that doesn’t mean Moose won’t try to Spear him.

I was suspecting there would be no winner between Steve Maclin and Jack Something. I forgot to add that I was expecting more matches to come. And I was right as the match turned into a brawl on the floor. So, both men were counted out. Nygma says: The case continues, but to what extent?

Ash by Elegance was so confident she would defeat Jacy Jayne and become the TNA Knockouts World Champion. Not only was the Elegance Brand banned from ringside, but so was Fatal Influence. And, as I was sure of, Masha Slamovich attacked Ash By Elegance out of nowhere, giving back to Ash what Ash did to Slamovich last week.

After the match, a massive brawl broke out between Fatal Influence, The Elegance Brand, The IInspiration, and the trio of Masha Slamovich, Léi Ying Lee, and Xia Brookside. Nygma says: Brawl aside, it was exactly what I was expecting from Slamovich. Then, I’m not sure Jayne vs Slamovich #3 will take place at Emergence.

Joe Hendry was confident in making Mustafa Ali believe before his first-ever match against Order 4’s leader. Tasha Steelz, Jason Hotch, John Skyler, and the tall leader of Ali’s Secret Service, “Agent Zero,” did it all, and, of course, Ali won. Nygma says: It was so easy to predict. Then, what a name than “Agent Zero.”

Good and Bad Surprises

Following her altercation with Tessa Blanchard at Slammiversary, Gia Miller returned as TNA Wrestling’s backstage correspondent. Miller warned Blanchard not to mess with her again, or else. Nygma says: I would love to see Blanchard vs Miller because “Mean” Gia Miller is an excellent wrestler in addition to being an excellent backstage interviewer.

TNA President Carlos Silva permitted Frankie Kazarian to join Tom Hannifan and Matthew Rehwoldt on commentary for this TNA International Championship match between Steve Maclin and Jake Something. Nygma says: If Kazarian is the King of TNA, his place is in a ring, not at ringside.

Xia Brookside and Léi Ying Lee clashed with Heather and M of The Elegance Brand. Even if The Elegance Brand tried to use their classic distractions and interferences, Lee hit M with an Airplane Spin into a Facebuster to win for her team. Later, Ash by Elegance was furious with the rest of The Elegance Brand for dropping the ball. Nygma says: What did you expect? I told you…

A.J. Francis and KC Navarro held an emergency episode of the First Class Penthouse. Navarro announced that he tore his ACL at Slammiversary and will require surgery. An unsympathetic Francis revealed the next man up. Rich Swann is back in TNA and in the group he was a founding member of. Francis told Navarro that his services are no longer needed. Navarro fired back at Francis, but got his crutches kicked out from underneath him.

Nygma will be honest: Rich Swann had some issues, TNA gave him the time to heal, and now he is back. Rich Swann is a fantastic wrestler, a former X-Division and World Champion. I believe in redemption, so I believe in Rich Swann.

Santino Marella’s Milan Miracles

Mike Santana accepted Sami Callihan’s challenge for Emergence. Eric Young accused Santana of failing TNA Wrestling when he was unable to capture the TNA World Championship at Slammiversary. Nygma says: There are a lot of things in this segment—first, the TNA family idea.

Eric Young, Sami Callihan, and Mike Santana epitomize the idea that TNA is a family where everyone stands strong for the company. Then, Mike Santana still has Trick Williams in mind, but he gives Callihan what he asked. Finally, I still can’t process the fact that Sami Callihan is ready to retire (I promised there would be a piece telling you why).

TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella came to announce several big matches for Emergence. And your Nygma smashed it. Four out of four. Maclin vs Something, signed. Santana vs Callihan, confirmed. A Knockouts World Tag Team Championship match, yes.

Marella informed the Nemeths that they will not be challenging The Hardys at Emergence, due to Nic’s attack on The Home Town Man and two TNA employees last week. Instead, Nic is suspended, The Hardys will defend against The Rascalz, and Ryan Nemeth will face The Home Town Man.

The Best of The Rest

  • Cedric Alexander vowed to dethrone X-Division Champion Leon Slater at Emergence.
  • Mara Sadè defeated Vicious Vicki in a good singles debut match.
  • TNA World Tag Team Champions The Hardys will immortalize their tag team legacy each and every time they step into the ring.
  • Steph De Lander and Mance Warner headed to the empty office of Director of Authority Santino Marella. A few minutes later, Marella and NXT’s Arianna Grace found them. It seems like it was disgusting…

The Nygma’s Last Word(s)

Never have I been more proud of my crystal ball. The preview was more than right (it’s true, I also review the TNA tapings, even if you never know what will happen around). I confess I laughed when I saw Ash and Joe Hendry lose, because it was so predictable (I will go to hell, I know).

However, I loved this episode. The action was excellent. The build-up to Emergence was good. Santino Marella is better than ever in his DOA role. We also have a few hints on what might happen after Emergence. If I want to be very picky, a few segments were not essential.
