NJPW G1 Climax 35 reached its 10th day, with the B Block competitors seeing action. Here’s all that went down in another thrilling show, which saw a new block leader:

- 5th match: Dick Togo & EVIL def. Gedo & David Finlay
- 4th match: Katsuya Murashima & Hiroshi Tanahashi def. Daiki Nagai & Yota Tsuji
- 3rd match: Yoshinobu Kanemaru & Sanada def. Shoma Kato & Yuya Uemura
- 2nd match: Ryohei Oiwa & Hartley Jackson def. Masatora Yasuda & Taichi
- 1st match: Toru Yano & Boltin Oleg def. Callum Newman & Jakob Austin Young
ZSJ Win Three In A Row to Take The Top Spot
IWGP World Heavyweight champion and defending G1 Climax winner Zack Sabre Jr. picked up his third consecutive win in this year’s tournament after tapping out Great O-Khan. ZSJ is now in a seven-way tie at eight points with Sabre, Takeshita, Moloney, Umino, YOSHI-HASHI, and Ren Narita.
While they all have eight points, The Frontman is in first place of the B Block by virtue of the tournament’s math. Meanwhile, O-Khan suffers his third loss in the tournament and his fourth loss against ZSJ in as many matches in their careers.
Takeshita And Umino Join Eight-Point Log Jam
Konosuke Takeshita and Shota Umino were both victorious in their respective matches, putting them in a seven-way tie. The Alpha took care of business against Bullet Club War Dogs’ Drilla Moloney, while Roughneck got one over YOSHI-HASHI.
Although they have the same point total, Takeshita is in a better standing than Umino. Both men have also yet to face each other, and it is now a match that should be looked forward to due to the current situation in their block.
Takagi Sinks ELP Even Further
NJPW World TV champion El Phantasmo is not having the best of tournaments in this year’s G1. He lost his fourth consecutive match against Shingo Takagi, putting him as the only one in their block with four points.
Both men came into the show with the same point total, but Takagi prevailed to keep his playoff hopes alive. The Rampage Dragon now has six points, winning a second straight tournament bout.
Tournament action will continue tomorrow, August 3, featuring the A Block. It will be headlined by Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Yota Tsuji.
