WWE SmackDown in Riyadh, the last stop before Night of Champions, brought the heat this Friday night. No matter the country, WWE always comes through for the WWE fans, sanctioning three championship matches for this week’s edition of SmackDown. It was only a matter of time before one of them changed hands, and that is what happened. Giulia took on Women’s United States Champion Zelina Vega in a title bout.

After debuting just over a month on SmackDown, Giulia would set her sights on the Women’s United States Championship. After an impressive outing at Money in the Bank, despite not winning the bout, Giulia proved to everyone that she deserved to be where she is. She made good on that impression, and this Friday night, in front of a hyped up Riyadh crowd, Giulia dethroned Zelina Vega to become the Women’s U.S. Champion.
It was a physical contest, with Zelina Vega fighting valiantly. However, Giulia dominated most of the match.
After a few Arrivederci Knees and a Northern Lights Bomb, Vega was dead to rights. With three simple slaps to the mat, Giulia is now your new Women’s United States Champion. This is Giulia’s first title on the main roster, second overall in WWE, winning the NXT Women’s Championship during her time in the White and Gold brand.
