WWE SmackDown Spoilers (6/27/25):
- King of the Ring 2025 finalist Cody Rhodes kicks off SmackDown in Riyadh tonight. Before Cody could even get a word in, “The Viper”, Randy Orton would enter the arena, looking as focused as ever. Orton would commend Rhodes for his match with Jey Uso in the King of the Ring semifinals on the latest edition of Raw until the live feed cut out for the WWE Universe around the world. Over 30 minutes later, the feed would come back on, with Michael Cole and Wade Barrett apologizing for the technical difficulties.
- To properly kick off the night, Jimmy Uso takes on JC Mateo. It was an extremely physical matchup, with Jimmy almost having Mateo’s number. Unfortunately, a well-timed distraction gave JC Mateo the opportunity to hit Uso with the “Tour of the Islands,” leading to a pinfall victory for Sikoa’s muscle. Post-match, Solo would once again try to convince Jimmy to join him. Unfortunately, Jimmy would say no with an empathic slap. Mateo and Sikoa would beat down Jimmy before Jacob Fatu would come to his aid.
- For the first of three title matches, Women’s United States Champion Zelina Vega is out first to defend her title against Giulia. After a physical contest that saw Giulia control most of the match, the “Beautiful Madness” would dispatch Zelina Vega, pinning her for the one, two, and three to become the new Women’s U.S. Champion.
- Wade Barrett interviews the Queen of the Ring finalists, Asuka and Jade Cargill. The “Storm of WWE” made a bold statement, claiming that she’s already looking ahead to SummerSlam, becoming champion and ruling the division. Asuka, on the other hand, said that no one has ever been ready for her, and her experience and skills will guide her to winning Queen of the Ring. Naomi would enter the fray, putting everyone on notice by reminding the division that she has the Money in the Bank contract. A scuffle between Naomi and Cargill would ensue, leading to Jade and Asuka getting into it and the “Empress of Tomorrow” kicking Cargill in the head before exiting the ring.
- #DIY enters the ring, ready for battle against Andrade and a partner of his choosing. Andrade sure had the best partner in mind, as he enlisted the help of Rey Fenix. Both teams showcased the true excellence of the WWE doubles division. Late in the match, after a kick to the head from Johnny Gargano to Fenix, Tommaso Ciampa would hit the Fairytale Ending, but it did not end the match. Fenix and Andrade would bounce back, hitting #DIY with a MMB and The Message combo to score the pinfall victory.
- Ron “R-Truth” Killings comes out to challenge John Cena once again to a match. Instead of Cena, Truth got Aleister Black and Black Mass to the head for his troubles and for interfering and Black’s match last week.
- WWE Tag Team Champions The Street Profits is out next, ready to defend the gold against The Wyatt Sicks’ Joe Gacy and Dexter Lumis. The Wyatt Sicks were in control for most of the match. When they were closing in on the tag team titles, Los Garza, as well as the entire SmackDown tag team division would get involved, leading to a disqualification and an intense melee. Despite the numbers, The Wyatt Sicks would stand tall above the division they’re trying to take over.
- For the main event of the evening and the final match of these WWE SmackDown spoilers, Tiffany Stratton gears up to defend the WWE Women’s Championship against Nia Jax in a Last Woman Standing Match. In an extremely physical match, both Stratton and Jax brought it tonight, bringing in every hardware imaginable to the equation, from Kendo Sticks to Tables. Neither woman wanted to quit, answering the call before the 10-count. At the conclusion of this match, with Stratton and Jax at the end of their respective ropes, Naomi would attempt to cash in Money in the Bank. Stratton would immediately thwart that attempt. And in an ironic twist, the briefcase itself would play a major role in the ending of the bout. Hanging off of the ropes on the apron, Jax would fall into multiple sets of tables after getting hit by the very briefcase that cost her the title. The ref would count to ten, and Jax would not get up, leading to Tiffany Stratton retaining the WWE Women’s Championship.
- To end these SmackDown spoilers, CM Punk and Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena have one last confrontation before their championship match tomorrow at Night of Champions. Cena entered the building with a ton of confidence. However, Cena’s now-signature smirk would be wiped away quickly. CM Punk would enter the ring to “Dr. of Thuganomics,” sporting old-school John Cena attire and the Titantron would flash the words “Punk Life.” After John laid down his own Pipe Bomb, Punk retaliated by bringing Cena back in time and verbally assaulting the champ, referring to it as “Basic Punkanomics.” Similar to Cena’s Pipe Bomb, we cannot do this justice, and you would have to watch it for yourself. However, we can tell you this: CM Punk left the “Never Seen 17” speechless, ending the night with momentum on his side heading into his final match with John Cena for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
That’s all for this week’s WWE SmackDown spoilers for June 27, 2025 in Riyadh. We will see you all for WWE Night of Champions!
