Jade Cargill is on the verge of getting her first-ever singles title match in WWE. She’ll just have to defeat Asuka to do so as the final for the Queen of the Ring is officially set.
On Monday night, Cargill battled against Roxanne Perez for the right to face Asuka in the finals of the Queen of the Ring tournament at Night of Champions. Perez looked strong in defeat, working the leg of Cargill throughout much of the match. Cargill was shown to be resilient, overcoming the hobbled leg in order to advance to the finals. The match wasn’t without its hiccups late but the finish allowed Cargill a chance to showcase her talent.
According to Dave Meltzer, if not for injury, Cargill would have won the women’s championship leading up to WrestleMania 42. It is possible WWE will utilize that same creative post Queen of the Ring at SummerSlam instead by having Cargill defeat Tiffany Stratton. That would provide the perfect opportunity for new Ms. Money in the Bank Naomi to cash-in on her rival.
