WWE NXT: Will the Brand’s New Faction Turn Out Successful in the Months Ahead?

Saturday, February 15, 2025, was annual the annual WWE NXT Vengeance Day PLE, filled with lots of impressive wrestling and a new Women’s North American Champion in Stephanie Vaquer. However, one of the more noteworthy things that came out of the PLE was the emergence of a new faction. Cutler James, Dion Lennox, Osiris Griffin, and Saquon Shugars attacked various men throughout the night.

It seemed like the perfect debut, but what happens afterward is what keeps people’s attention. Numerous factions, such as the Final Testament, the OC, and the Wyatt Sicks, have had members released or have just been disappointing over the past couple of months.

In order for this group to not meet that same fate, they have to be booked well and be over with the fans. If not, the massive debut could be looked at as a flop sooner rather than later.

Their Debut Was a Departure From the Norm

The three factions named above all have one thing in common. They debuted and immediately started feuding with a faction. The Final Testament with the Pride, the OC with the Judgment Day, and the Wyatt Sicks with American Made. Given WWE’s booking, what followed was predictable. Until the blowoff matches, viewers were subjected to weeks of the factions feuding with each other. An array of singles and tag team matches made the feuds boring and hard to care about.

With this new faction, they not only attacked Nathan Frazer & Axiom and Josh Briggs & Yoshiki Inamura, but Oba Femi as well. It’s obvious they have set their sights on multiple champions while also making what they’re going to do unpredictable. As they were the only champions on the show, could an attack on Tony D’Angelo or Lexis King be next?

Spreading Out the Members Will Help Keep Interest Up

One of the good things about factions such as Judgment Day and the Family is that they are always spread out throughout the show. There are always multiple JD matches every week, keeping the group interesting.

Tony D’Angelo is the NXT North American Champion, and Adriana Rizzo pulls her weight in the women’s division. With that in mind, Stacks and Luca Crusifino have their battles they’ve taken care of over the years. Having the group go on different journeys while staying together could help their longevity.

Lots of different approaches could work. Make two tag teams with both of them, have them compete for different singles gold, and continue what they teased last night. Having them keep a watchful eye on everyone in the locker room will continue that sinister presence they have. If that happens, multiple championships could be coming their way soon.

A Different Approach Could Be Their Key to Success

Over the years in WWE, there have been good factions and bad ones. Some have stayed together for years, while others have crumbled either due to turns or members getting released.

What this new group did Saturday night was a good indication that they will be a success, at least for now. They could’ve attacked the Family or Shawn Spears and his crew, setting up predictable faction warfare.

But they attacked two tag teams and a singles champion. Doing that sparks questions as to who they are targeting and what will happen on Tuesday.

They have sent a message to the entire men’s locker room. It doesn’t matter if you’re in a tag team or competing on your own; you are getting taken out. That unpredictability can help keep the audience’s interest in the group up while getting all of them over in the process.
