WWE Raw Preview: Match Card
McIntyre vs. Rollins
Drew McIntyre interrupted a confrontation between CM Punk and Seth Rollins last week to make sure both men knew he still hated them. All three WWE Raw stars will be in the Royal Rumble match in a few weeks as they vie for a World Championship opportunity. But this week, McIntyre looks to defeat Rollins as he did at WrestleMania 40 to win the World Heavyweight Championship.
McIntyre lost the title minutes later to Damian Priest thanks to a CM Punk attack and has been a very angry Scot since. Even if he does beat Rollins, I can’t see him calming down anytime soon. Maybe try a hot bubble bath and some soothing bagpipes, Drew!
Sami Zayn has only just settled some beef with McIntyre. He is scheduled to cut a promo in the ring on WWE Raw, where he will almost definitely announce that he is joining the above men in the Royal Rumble.
Meanwhile, a man who held the WWE Championship for 280 days and earned a WWE Hall of Famer ring will return to his home State of Texas. JBL has been popping up on the independent circuit recently to randomly clothesline people.
There could be a place on the WWE Raw announce desk for JBL, or maybe he might return to management, or perhaps he’ll just clothesline someone. Corey Graves won’t be happy if it’s the former.
Gunther and Jey Uso will have another go at trading insults in a bid to get people to tune into NBC’s Saturday Night’s Main Event when they meet for the “Ring General’s” World Heavyweight Championship.
Intercontinental Champions and Tag Team Battles
Bron Breakker and Sheamus are also set to meet on Saturday and will use Monday to create interest in this contest for the WWE Men’s Intercontinental Championship. Sheamus hopes to emulate his fellow Irish superstar Lyra Valkyria, who won the Women’s Intercontinental Championship last week.
Valkyria will appear on WWE Raw, so expect to see her initial challengers raise their heads this week. Dakota Kai and IYO SKY will be busy trying to gain retribution against Pure Fusion Collective for taking Kairi Sane out of the tournament and onto the injury bench.
The New Day will return to in-ring competition for the first time since they turned heel and kicked Big-E to the curb. They will face a mystery team.
Don’t expect a surprise as exciting as Penta last week. Penta’s debut got the whole wrestling world a buzz. We will see the new WWE needle mover this week as he builds to his next WWE dream match.
