Where Do The Storylines Go After WWE NXT Vengeance Day?

Photo from WWE NXT Vengeance Day 2024.

WWE NXT Vengeance Day started and ended with a vengeance. We saw a bit of everything: high-caliber matches, new tag team #1 contenders, champions retaining, and betrayals. After an entertaining and exciting PLE, what is next for the NXT Superstars involved in the 2024 Vengeance Day PLE?

Where Do The Storylines Go After NXT Vengeance Day?

The Dusty Cup Final

WWE NXT Vengeance Day 2024 started with the Dusty Cup Final between Trick Williams & Carmelo Hayes against Baron Corbin and Bron Breaker. This match was entertaining and fast-paced.

Throughout the whole match, Trick & Melo are on different pages while Bron & Corbing tag-teamed them. The self-proclaimed Wolf Dogs won the victory after Bron speared Melo, who pushed Trick out of the way. Bron & Corbin win the Dusty Cup finals and earn a future NXT Tag Team championship match.

What’s Next for Bron, Corbin, Trick & Melo?

What is next for Corbin and Bron is obvious. They are the next #1 contenders for the NXT Tag Team Championships. The chemistry between these two is on a different level. It won’t be surprising if these two become NXT Tag Team champions.

Bron is also set to make a main roster debut soon, so a Corbin or Bron heel turn could be in the works, too. Whatever is next for these two stars, it is safe to say a storyline between the two is in the works.

Trick & Melo are definitely going to be feuding with one another, especially after what happened in the main event. But we will get to that a bit later.

Dijak vs Joe Gacey, and what is next?

These two faced each other in a No Disqualification match. With these two competitors and this type of match, no one was expecting a wrestling match. This was a no-holds-barred; everything matches.

We had Gacey push Dijak onto a table with toys, and Dijak hit Gacey with a trash can as well. The match ended with Dijak hitting Gacey in the stomach with a nightstick and hitting his finisher; feast your eyes for the 1,2,3.

It is safe to say the future is bright, yet Gacey is still determining. After this match, Gacey has no direction of where to go; maybe a change in character is what is best for Gacey at the moment. Dijak has once again had a fantastic match at an NXT PLE. Dijak may get a run with the NXT North American Championship or a run for the NXT Championship.

The Six-Man Tag Team Match

This was a faction match between OTM and The Family. The D’Angelo family came out on top in the end. Tony D’Angelo and Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo are the current NXT Tag Team champions and will be feuding with Bron and Corbin very soon.

OTM members Lucien Price and Bronco Nima will have to go to the back of the line; a few more tag team matches under their belt are what they need. They looked green out there against the champions.

NXT Women’s Championship Match

This was supposed to be a one-on-one match between Roxanne Perez and Lyra Valkyria (c) until Lola Vice got involved. Midway through the match, Lola Vice cashed in her NXT Breakout Tournament contract and made the match a triple threat match. It also did not help that Valkyria’s stalker, Tatum Paxley, attacked Perez, which made Valkyria capitalize with a night wish on Lola for victory.

Roxanne Perez and Lola Vice will probably be feuding after tonight. During a backstage segment, Roxanne attacked Lola Vice for interfering in her one-on-one match and making it a triple threat.

These two will have an interesting storyline, and maybe after Perez can target Paxley. Meanwhile, Valkyria will probably get a new number-one contender for her championship, someone new like Gigi Dolin or Kiana James. Maybe someone who knows Valkyria, like Blair Davenport?

NXT North American Championship Match

NXT North American Champion Oba Femi made quick work of Dragon Lee. The former North American Champion Lee started the match with quickness and agility, but Oba Femi’s power proved to be too much. The champion, Oba Femi, defeated Dragon Lee with a vicious powerbomb.

Oba Femi could be looking at a few challengers coming his way. Someone like Dijak could be interesting; someone like Josh Briggs could be next. Even someone like Lexis King could be interesting.

Dragon Lee could be looking at a Main Roster call-up sooner rather than later. WWE has hinted at a potential reunion with LWO; maybe Lee will get a call-up really quickly. In the meantime Lee could test someone like Noam Dar or Nathan Frazer.

Main Event: NXT Championship Match

The match everyone was waiting for was the champion, Ilja Draginov, against the hottest star in NXT at the moment, Trick Williams. This was arguably the match of the night, with both superstars going back and forth.

With Melo on Tricks’ corner made it much more entertaining. The match ended when Ilja hit Trick with a Torpedo Moscow to seal the deal. After the match, Melo attacked Trick, making it really obvious it was Melo who attacked Trick weeks ago, turning Melo’s heel in the process.

Melo and Trick will have a rivalry coming out of Vengeance Day. This feud will probably be Melo’s last in NXT since he already signed with the Smackdown roster. After this rivalry with Melo, Trick should have another chance against Ilja Draginov. It is obvious Trick Williams is the next face of NXT. Ilja Draginov is the guy at the moment.

We could see people like Corbin, Lee, D’Angelo, Dijak, and the list goes on facing him next. Joe Coffey or Ridge Holland could be next. How about a returning Wes Lee or maybe even the person behind that mysterious cryptic three-faces promo during the PLE?

Who knows what will happen, but the storylines seem to be opening up for these NXT Superstars, and we, as fans, can not wait for everything to unfold before WrestleMania season.
