Allison Danger vs Billie Starkz

Allison Danger Makes Her GCW Debut

Making her Game Changer Wrestling debut at GCW Into the Light is Allison Danger. The younger sister to Extreme Championship Wrestling and Ring of Honor star Steve Corino, Danger began wrestling in 2000. She worked for a number of independent organizations including Jersey All Pro Wrestling, but in the early 2000s, she joined ROH. Danger also became one of the key stars of the women’s independent wrestling scene, working for SHIMMER Women Athletes in particular. During her time in SHIMMER, she worked with such names as MsChif, Leva Bates, and recent Indie Wrestling Hall of Fame inductee Cheerleader Melissa. After nearly two decades of wrestling independently, Danger landed a job in WWE as a Coach at the Performance Center in October of 2021.

However, Danger’s time in WWE was cut short when she was released in January of the following year; only 3 months into her new job. Despite this setback, she was able to bounce back, returning to the independent scene. This past July, she joined Women’s Wrestling Army, run by Maria Kanellis-Bennett, as a Coach. The October after, she made her official in-ring return at Colby Corino’s Painted Black, teaming with her brother in a winning effort against Brandon and Kasey Kirk. Not only has Danger been able to continually make a difference on the new generation of wrestlers but her own in-ring endeavors haven’t slowed down, which led her to Game Changer Wrestling,

At GCW Into the Light, she makes her debut in the promotion against a name on the rise, Billie Starkz. While many fans of the independents will be familiar with “Space Jesus,” those that watch All Elite Wrestling may have seen her as she began appearing in the company last year. Most recently, she challenged TBS Champion Jade Cargill in a losing effort at Battle of the Belts VI. Despite the loss, Starkz had a solid showing against “That Bitch.” This Friday, Starkz steps back into a GCW ring against a veteran in Danger. Whether Danger’s GCW debut ends in a victory remains to be seen, but this will be a bout not to miss.

Hijo del Vikingo vs Komander at GCW Into the Light

El Hijo Del Vikingo Faces Komander at GCW Into the Light

Another match not to miss this Friday pits two of the hottest luchadors in the world today against each other. At GCW Into the Light, El Hijo del Vikingo will battle Komander. Both men have had their time to shine in All Elite Wrestling this year; while Vikingo took Kenny Omega to the limit on the March 22 edition of AEW Dynamite, Komander competed in this year’s Face of the Revolution Ladder Match and had a standout performance against Sammy Guevara on the April 5 edition of Dynamite. Simply put, these high-flyers made their own impressions on a national stage, which makes their upcoming bout at Into the Light all the more must-see.

It’s important to note that this is far from Vikingo and Komander’s first singles match with each other. In February of 2022, they faced off in Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide, with Komander picking up the victory. More recently, at this past March’s ROH Supercard of Honor event, Vikingo successfully defended the AAA Mega Championship against Komander. Thus, one can look at this contest as the rubber match; who will be the one to emerge victorious at Center Stage, proving their mettle in the process? If there’s any one match that aims to steal the show at GCW Into the Light, smart money would be on this.
