Stardom Dream Queendom News: Debuts, Title Changes & More

Stardom Dream Queendom 2022 - Giulia vs Syuri graphic

Stardom Dream Queendom is in the books as Stardom closed out its year with a massive show that featured debuts, new champions, a big announcement, and more. Let’s round up the news from the event.

Stardom Dream Queendom News

Yokohama Arena

It was announced that Stardom will be running the Yokohama Arena for the first time on April 23, 2023. This event will take place just over 30 years after Dream Slam at Yokohama Arena, which remains one of the most iconic events in Joshi history. Many believe this will be the show featuring Sasha Banks competing for Stardom.

Xia Brookside Returns & Mariah May Debuts

Mina Shirakawa has some new friends in the form of former STARS member Xia Brookside and UK indie performer Mariah May. The two are likely teaming with Shirakawa as  Team X in the Triangle Derby league.

#AndNEW

The Prominence team of Suzu Suzuki, Risa Sera and Kurumi Hiiragi defeated Oedo Tai to become the new Artist of Stardom champions.

Giulia defeated Syuri in the main event of the show to become the new World of Stardom Champion, Giulia won this year’s 5STAR Grand Prix and ended Syuri’s reign at the one-year mark.

7Upp defeated meltear to win the Goddess of Stardom Championship. Yuu and Nanae Takahashi won the Goddess tag league earlier this month and will defend against Maika and Himea first.

Syuri Calls Out An Old Foe

While speaking to the press after the show, Syuri called out Chihiro Hashimoto of Sendai Girls. The two had a confrontation last year at a Korakuen Hall anniversary event that featured multiple Joshi promotions. Hashimoto recently lost the Sendai Girls title to ASUKA after holding it for over 1,000 days. If we had to guess, the company may hold off on this one until Yokohama Arena.

That was all of the news from an eventful Stardom Dream Queendom event.
