NJPW x Stardom Joint Show Announced

NJPW x Stardom Event Announcement

For the first time ever Stardom and New Japan Pro Wrestling, both owned by Bushiroad, will hold a joint show. The event will take place on November 20 at the Ariake Arena, which seemingly hosts 15,000 people. Stardom matches have taken place on bigger New Japan shows in the past but for the first time, both companies will enter a show on equal footing to host an NJPW x Stardom supershow.

Hiroshi Tanahashi, Mayu Iwatani, and Starlight Kid were all present for the announcement of the show with Starlight Kid hinting at some potential matches. During Kid’s time to speak, she mentioned the possibility of the card featuring mixed tag matches which means we will no doubt see at least a few crossover teams as Stardom’s finest team with NJPWs finest.  Kid didn’t outright mention who she wants to team with but eagle-eyed Twitter followers will be aware of her friendship with El Desperado of NJPW, since both are members of villainous groups they would make a great pairing.

Mayu Iwatani drove home the importance of this show during her part of the announcement, she sees this as a true chance to showcase women’s wrestling as Stardom aims to surpass their male counterparts in Bushiroad Fights.

Whatever this NJPW x Stardom show ends up being, it will be a historic night for Joshi wrestling and Japanese wrestling as a whole.
