#AndNEW: Alex Colon Wins GCW Ultraviolent Championship at C.O.S.

Alex Colon Wins Third GCW Ultraviolent Title at COS

This past weekend, as part of Tournament of Survival Weekend, Game Changer Wrestling held its C.O.S. (Cage of Survival) event. In the main event, Alex Colon challenged GCW Ultraviolent Champion John Wayne Murdoch in the final bout. This was billed as a Cage of Survival Match, pitting the two fierce rivals in the confines of a steel cage primed for violence, including light tubes and other weapons of potential destruction. Colon and Murdoch have been at each other’s throats for months and this match stipulation took matters to a higher level. Following a grueling contest that lasted a little over 18 minutes, Alex Colon unseated his rival, winning his third GCW Ultraviolent title in the process.

What to Know Regarding This Past Weekend’s Title Change

With this victory, Alex Colon is now a 3x GCW Ultraviolent Champion, making him the only competitor in company history to hold this distinction. In fact, he’s the only wrestler to have held said title multiple times. He became the first Ultraviolent Champion in April 2021 before winning it a second time the following November. Furthermore, Colon has been a tournament standout in company history. In addition to winning last year’s Nick Gage Invitational, he holds the record as a 3x Tournament of Survival victor, winning the latter tournament in 2019, 2020, and 2021. As GCW announces dates and cards for future shows, expect to see Colon scheduled to defend his newly won title moving forward.
