Beth Phoenix Appears at WWE Day 1 Event

Beth Phoenix WWE Day 1

At WWE Day 1, The Miz faced Edge in singles action. This feud has been built over the course of several weeks, featuring everything from Maryse appearing on The Cutting Edge to, most recently, Edge interrupting The Miz and Maryse’s renewal of wedding vows on Monday Night Raw. Despite being outnumbered on tonight’s show, “The Rated R Superstar” wasn’t alone. As the match reached its conclusion, Beth Phoenix made a surprise appearance at Day 1, evening the odds and ensuring that her real-life husband picked up the victory. Edge and Phoenix stood in the middle of the ring, the former victorious in his match against the self-proclaimed “Most Must-See WWE Superstar.”

Beth Phoenix Appears at Day 1

With this appearance at Day 1, Beth Phoenix has seemingly returned to the main roster. Up until this past December, she had been providing commentary on NXT alongside Vic Joseph and Wade Barrett. Phoenix provided insight alongside her partners at the desk, not to mention served as an impromptu priest during Dexter Lumis and Indi Hartwell’s wedding. However, in December, she announced her departure from the brand following the NXT WarGames event. “This was not an easy decision, as I have loved my three plus years and 135 episodes with NXT and am incredibly proud of the brand,” she said. Phoenix expanded on her choice to leave, deciding to spend more time with her family. However, with this surprise appearance at Day 1, time will tell whether she plays a more long-term role on main roster programming.
