What to Know About “The Apex of Combat”
This past October, it was announced that Lee Moriarty signed with All Elite Wrestling. The news in question was made public following Moriarty’s match against Bobby Fish on the October 15 episode of the AEW Rampage Buy-In. Since then, Moriarty has been featured prominently in the company, not only on Rampage but AEW Dark, AEW Dark: Elevation, and the company’s flagship program, AEW Dynamite. His most notable match in the company took place earlier this month when he faced CM Punk in a losing effort.
Prior to signing with AEW, Moriarty was among the hottest talents on the independent scene. The man known for his “Taiga Style” made his mark in such organizations as Pro Wrestling eXpress, Ryse Wrestling, and Game Changer Wrestling. It was in GCW where Moriarty enjoyed the majority of indie exposure. In 2021 alone, in the company in question, he competed in the Acid Cup 3, making it to the finals where he lost to eventual winner Jordan Oliver. He also tested his mettle against Joey Janela, AJ Gray, Rich Swann, and others.
