Dirty Dango, FKA Fandango, Makes NWA Debut at Hard Times 2

Dirty Dango JTG NWA Hard Times 2

At NWA Hard Times 2, La Rebelión (Bestia 666 and Mecha Wolf 450) defended the NWA World Tag Team Championship against The End (Odinson and Parrow). Despite a valiant effort from the challengers, it was the titleholders that emerged victorious, pulling off high-flying tag team maneuvers to pick up the victory. Following the victory, La Rebelión were interrupted by JTG, who had become a regular competitor for the National Wrestling Alliance. However, “Jay Tha Gawd” didn’t come alone; standing by his side, and making his NWA debut, was Dirty Dango, the man formerly known to WWE fans as Fandango and Johnny Curtis. Without saying a word, JTG and Dirty Dango made their intentions clear: they were aiming to win tag team gold.

Dirty Dango Makes His NWA Debut

This past June, the man formerly known as Fandango was released from WWE. He was one name among a list of over 10 wrestlers, including Ever-Rise, Tony Nese, and Tyler Breeze, the latter of whom became best known for teaming with Dango as the duo Breezango. Dango was a long-standing WWE-contracted talent, originally signing a developmental contract with the company in 2006. From there, he did everything from participate in the fourth season of NXT to being reinvented in multiple ways. Originally known as Johnny Curtis, he would be repackaged in 2012 as the ballroom dancing character dubbed Fandango. He saw modest success on the main roster, capturing the NXT Tag Team Championship alongside Breeze in August 2020.

Following his release from WWE, Dirty Dango returned to the independent wrestling scene under his new name. The organizations he’s worked for, since this past October, include Chaotic Wrestling, Northeast Wrestling, and Limitless Wrestling. Now that Dango has made his first-ever appearance for NWA, in the company’s current iteration, expect to see him become a more consistent performer on the show’s programming.
