Preview: G1 Climax 31 B Block Final (10/20/21)

Jeff Cobb vs Kazuchika Okada

It all comes down to this in the B Block as Jeff Cobb and Kazuchika Okada will battle it out to decide who wins the block and goes on to face Kota Ibushi in the G1 Climax 31 Final.  Cobb and Okada isn’t the only big match that will take place at the Nippon Budokan but it is the only match with tournament ramifications.  Let’s take a look at the full card for the G1 Climax 31 B Block final day.

G1 Climax 31 B Block Final Card (10/20/21)

  • Kosei Fujita & Ryohei Oiwa vs BUSHI & Hiromu Takahashi
  • B Block: YOSHI-HASHI vs Chase Owens
  • B Block: Hirooki Goto vs Tama Tonga
  • B Block: Hiroshi Tanahashi vs Taichi
  • B Block: SANADA vs EVIL
  • B Block: Kazuchika Okada vs Jeff Cobb

Kazuchika Okada (14) vs Jeff Cobb (16)

The only two men left alive in the block will collide on the final day to settle their rivalry.  Okada has problems with Cobb dating back to Cobb joining the United Empire which immediately pit him against Okada.  With the Empire’s leader Will Ospreay not in Japan right now Jeff Cobb has taken up the mantle as Okada’s main rival with the two currently 1-1 in singles matches in 2021.  Okada does have an edge in their all-time W/L record as he beat Cobb in last year’s G1 Climax.  Jeff Cobb is currently looking to do the impossible and run through his block unbeaten but he has a major roadblock in the form of Kazuchika Okada who has already beaten him twice in singles matches.  With how things are shaping up we predict that Kazuchika Okada will walk away from this match with the win and slip into the G1 final.
