Preview: AEW Dark Elevation (10/11/21) – ECW Alumni Crowbar in Action

AEW Dark: Elevation hails from Philadelphia this week as former WCW and ECW star Crowbar makes his AEW debut in a match with Joey Janela.  We will also see a tantalizing clash in the women’s division as Ruby Soho takes on Emi Sakura and an 8-man tag match featuring a number of AEW’s prominent factions.  Without further ado let’s take a look at the AEW Dark: Elevation card.

AEW Dark: Elevation Card (10/11/21)

  • Penelope Ford W/ The Bunny vs Notorious Mimi
  • Santana & Ortiz vs Adrien Soriano & Gabriel Hodder
  • FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood) W/ Tully Blanchard vs Lee Moriarty & LSG
  • Tay Conti W/ Anna Jay vs Dani Mo
  • Joey Janela W/ Kayla Rossi vs Crowbar
  • Ruby Soho vs Emi Sakura
  • Hardy Family Office (Isiah Kassidy, Marq Quen, The Blade & The Butcher) W/ Matt Hardy vs Chuck Taylor, Lee Johnson, Brock Anderson & Wheeler Yuta

Crowbar vs Joey Janela

ECW and WCW alumni Crowbar steps into an AEW ring for the first time as he takes on Joey Janela. This isn’t the first time Janela and Crowbar have clashed as they competed for the JCW Heavyweight Championship in 2015 in a TLC match. When Jersey Championship Wrestling (JCW) returned earlier this year, Crowbar competed on the show as a throwback to his run in JCW, now rebranded to Game Changer Wrestling, in the mid 201os. Crowbar, formerly known as Devon Storm, is a nearly 30-year veteran who competed for ECW, WCW, and the WWF in the 90s although his main push in WCW came in 2000 when he won the WCW tag titles with David Flair.

Ruby Soho vs Emi Sakura

An interesting clash in the women’s division as Japanese veteran Sakura takes on Ruby Soho, who competed in Japan in 2015 for Stardom where she was a member of the Oedo Tai faction.  As far as purely in-ring competition goes these are two of the division’s best and this is a match that fans will definitely want to go out of their way to see.
