GCW Announces Relaunch of Jersey Championship Wrestling

Jersey Championship Wrestling

In a huge announcement on Sunday, Game Changer Wrestling (GCW) announced the relaunch of Jersey Championship Wrestling (JCW). Running from 1999-2015, JCW was the New Jersey indie promotion that ultimately became GCW in 2015, after Brett Lauderdale took over the company. In a tweet from GCW on Sunday, it was revealed that the newly rebooted JCW will act as an off-shoot of GCW and that “(t)he relaunched JCW will provide an additional platform for the future stars of GCW and all of Independent Wrestling.”

In a press release from JCW’s new Twitter account, Brett Lauderdale revealed that the new JCW will be co-run by a partnership between GCW’s Lauderdale and Orange Crush publisher Adam Abdalla. “GCW has developed a reputation for finding the ‘next’ big independent wrestling stars and introducing them to a national audience. This is something I am passionate about, and take a lot of pride in,” Lauderdale stated in the release. “Before GCW was GCW, it was JCW, and through its landmark event The Jersey Cupnumerous careers were made, changing the game for so many talented performers.”

The new JCW also revealed that the first live event will take place on May 1, 2021, as part of a doubleheader with GCW’s upcoming GCW Ashes to Ashes in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and that the show will air LIVE and FREE on YouTube. Talent announcements should begin over the next few weeks.
