Preview: NXT UK (6/24/21) – Huge Triple Threat Likely To Decide No.1 Contender

NXT UK Triple Threat

Ilja Dragunov, Joe Coffey and Rampage Brown will look to prove who is the most dominant man on NXT UK when they meet in a huge triple threat likely to decide the next United Kingdom Championship No.1 contender. Here, we look at this match and everything else set for the show.

NXT UK will air on the WWE Network and Peacock at 8 pm GMT/3 pm EST on June 24. Fans in the UK can also watch the show a day later on BT Sport.

Full NXT UK Card (6/24/21)

  • Three Threat: Ilja Dragunov vs. Joe Coffey vs. Rampage Brown
  • Teoman vs. Oliver Carter

Three Men Vie For Dominance

Dragunov threw himself into Rampage Brown and Joe Coffey’s rivalry to remind them that he is a top guy in NXT UK. The three men agreed that they are the toughest competitors in NXT UK during a chat last week.

Whoever comes out on top will be able to say with conviction that they deserve the next shot at WALTER’S United Kingdom Championship. Each man has tried and failed to prise the title from the dominant Austrian.

Dragunov has seemingly overcome the mental issues that have plagued him since his defeat to WALTER. Coffey feels he needs to prove to himself and Brown and Dragunov that he is still ‘on top’. Brown really shook up the NXT UK roster with his arrival and he will want to complete his descent with a victory over WALTER at the second time of asking.

It is hearsay that the huge triple threat is likely to decide the No.1 contender at WALTER but what we do know is it is guaranteed to be an extremely physical affair.

Who Does Teoman Have His Eye On?

Teoman takes on Oliver Carter this week having recently defeated his tag team partner Ashton Smith. Carter returned and stopped Teoman from injuring Smith as he locked him in his devastating crossface after the bell. For Teoman, family is the most important thing in the world and he has taken displeasure to Smith and Carter’s non-family bond.

But the ‘Babo’ could be in danger of overlooking Carter. Teoman’s eye flashed on the TitanTron after Nathan Frazer and Rohan Raja’s match, last week, signalling that he was watching one or both of them.

This could be both men’s best singles match on the NXT UK roster as they will be familiar with each other from their time in Westside Xtreme Wrestling (wXw).

The Ball Is In Mark Coffey’s Court Now

Gallus stable mates Mark Coffey and Wolfgang are going head-to-head in challenges to try and work out who the best is. Wolfgang defeated Sam Gradwell last week to go 1-0 up.

Also on the latest NXT UK, Coffey antagonized Sha Samuels when he was trying to read his paper. This sent ‘The East End Butcher running to demand a match from Sid Scala. Coffey turned to the camera and said a match with Samuels would be his opportunity to draw level with Wolfgang. We will either get that match this week or confirmation that it is happening.

Will Devlin Prove He Is ‘The Franchise Player’?

Jordan Devlin has been busy since returning to NXT UK. Last week, he called out anyone on the roster that wanted to step up. Later, he found A-Kid in his dressing room. This appears to signal the two will tangle at some point. Is this week too soon? It probably is. We may also see the wheels put in motion to find the first challenger to Meiko Satomura’s NXT UK Women’s Championship.
