Preview: AEW Dark (6/1/21) – Jungle Boy, Red Velvet, Dark Order, and More

AEW Dark 6/1/21

AEW Dark is a shorter show this week, as both it and AEW Dark: Elevation were recorded as part of Double or Nothing weekend in front of a live crowd in Jacksonville. This week, AEW will feature five matches, including action with Jungle Boy, Red Velvet, and Dark Order. Here’s a breakdown of the matches that have been announced:

  • Bear Bronson vs. Jungle Boy (w/Jurassic Express)
  • Diamante vs. Red Velvet
  • Robyn Renegade vs. Kris Statlander (w/The Best Friends)
  • The Wingmen (Cezar Bononi & Nick Nemeth) (w/”Pretty” Peter Avalon) vs. The Gunn Club (Billy & Colten Gunn)
  • TH2 & Serpentico (w/Luther) vs. Dark Order’s Alan “5” Angels, Stu Grayson, & Alex Reynolds

Jungle Boy on a Roll After Double or Nothing Victory

Jungle Boy‘s surprise win in the Casino Battle Royale at Double or Nothing shows that AEW has big plans for the young star going forward, as his win on Sunday guarantees him a future shot at the AEW World Championship. Last night on Elevation, Jungle Boy kept his momentum going with a submission win over JD Drake. Tonight on AEW Dark, he looks to make it three in a row when he faces off against Bear Bronson.

Diamante Battles Red Velvet on AEW Dark

Both Diamante and Red Velvet are talented younger stars looking to make a name for themselves, yet so far a breakout win has eluded them both. Red Velvet had a chance a couple of weeks ago to upset Serena Deeb for the NWA Women’s World Championship. That was a solid match which ultimately saw Deeb retain her title. Meanwhile, Diamante has been a regular on Dark and Elevation, performing well against enhancement workers, but coming up short in matches against bigger-name talent like Kris Statlander and “Legit” Leyla Hirsch. The winner of this match could end up being the next breakout star of the women’s division, so check out Dark tonight to see who comes out on top.
