The forbidden door to New Japan Pro Wrestling has been kicked open as AEW welcomes two NJPW stars to AEW Dark Elevation this week.  The first is Ren Narita who’s debut was known last week as he will take on Royce Isaacs.  The other NJPW star debuting is Rocky Romero who will be taking on JD Drake in one of the marquee matches on this edition of Elevation.

Romero is a respected veteran junior heavyweight competitor who has recently spent most of his time in the U.S. splitting his time between NJPW Strong and the occasional Ring Of Honor match.  Romero debuted all the way back in the year 2000 and within just 2 years of his debut was wrestling for New Japan alongside Ricky Reyes as the Havana Pitbulls.  Ever since then he has wrestled for major promotions all over the world like NOAH, Mexican giants CMLL and AAA, ROH, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, and everywhere in between.

Throughout his career Romero has won a number of championships, notably being an eight-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight tag team champion, four of those reigns came alongside AEW star Trent?, Romero is also a former ROH tag champion, and CMLL World Super Lightweight Champion.  Now, the well-traveled veteran heads to AEW where he will wrestle JD Drake in a match that is sure to steal the show.
