Franky Monet, FKA Taya Valkyrie, Debuts on NXT

Franky Monet NXT

On tonight’s edition of NXT, Franky Monet made her official debut on the black-and-gold brand. Formerly known as Taya Valkyrie, her WWE debut had been hyped for several weeks. Since NXT TakeOver: Stand and Deliver, routinely saw videos of a small dog making its way to the Capitol Wrestling Center, the main venue of NXT. An interesting tidbit is that this is actually the real-life pet of Monet and her real-life husband, WWE’s own John Morrison. Monet made her debut and she did so in extravagant fashion.

With her beloved dog in her possession, Monet interrupted a segment featuring Dakota Kai and the new NXT Women’s Champion, Raquel Gonzalez. Monet introduced herself, adopting her long-time nickname of “La Wera Loca” all the while. Gonzalez didn’t take kindly to Monet’s interruption, threatening her. Instead of getting physical, Monet left the champion and Kai in the ring, deciding to fight another day.

Franky Monet brings with her, to NXT, over a decade of wrestling experience. She began her wrestling career under the tutelage of Lance Storm at the Storm Wrestling Academy. From there, she would gain experience around the world, from Canada to Mexico, where she became a prominent fixture in Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide. Prior to signing with WWE, she was a regular performer for IMPACT Wrestling, where she is a former Knockouts Champion, having held the title for over a year. Given the aforementioned experience, as well as the accolades she has attained, don’t be surprised to see her holding gold in NXT before long.
