Preview: Gatoh Move ChocoPro #86 – Gabai Ji-chan/Mei Suruga (1/31/21)

ChocoPro 86

Gatoh Move Pro Wrestling looks to close out the month of January with a stacked episode of ChocoPro. In addition to Gatoh Move regulars, the ChocoPro team will work with several stars from the outside, many of whom have made appearances on the show in the past. While these matches may seem outlandish, rest assured that the men and women working will put forth their best efforts. Here is what ChocoPro viewers, both old and new, can expect.

Baliyan Akki and Antonio Honda vs. Chie Koishikawa and Hagane Shinnou

Once again, Chie Koishikawa and Hagane Shinnou will join forces to form an unorthodox pairing. Koishikawa’s energy and Shinnou’s ice-cold offense were previously paired on ChocoPro episode seventy-eight earlier this month. Despite their best efforts, they were unable to thwart their adversaries in the Asia Dream Tag Team Champions, Best Bros. Speaking of which, one half of those titleholders, Baliyan Akki, will join forces with the unlikely partner of Antonio Honda. To say that this will also be a unique pairing would be an understatement. While Akki relies on quick strikes and high-flying offense, Honda’s comedic, oftentimes effective offense has made him one of the most successful ChocoPro competitors. When these two unorthodox pairs clash, it’s fair to say that it will make for interesting professional wrestling.

Gabai Ji-chan vs. Mei Suruga

For the first time since February of 2020, the mysterious Gabai Ji-chan will make his return to Gatoh Move Pro Wrestling. The unassuming yet still formidable grandfatherly figure last appeared for the purple-and-yellow promotion in early 2020, when he battled Lulu Pencil in a formidable effort. However, on this episode, ChocoPro will become witness to Gabai Ji-chan for the very first time. This match will be no stroll in the park, however, as he battles the other half of the Asia Dream Tag Team Champions in Mei Suruga. As one of the top titleholders in Gatoh Move, Suruga will enter this match with momentum on her side. However, it’s important to note that Gabai Ji-chan has been in the business for almost two decades. Can she overcome her more seasoned opponent on this episode of ChocoPro?

Yuna Mizumori and An Chamu vs. Pencil Army (Emi Sakura and Lulu Pencil) (ChocoPro Main Event)

What does one get when two colorful idols that live to perform take on perhaps the most earnest duo in Gatoh Move? On ChocoPro episode eighty-six, the answer will be found. On one side of the equation will stand the duo of Yuna Mizumori and An Chamu. As Gatoh Move’s “Pineapple Girl,” Mizumori continues to be one of the must-see competitors on ChocoPro. Most recently, on the previous episode, she teamed with TropiCalamari partner Chris Brookes to challenge Asia Dream Tag Team Champions Best Bros. On this episode, however, she finds unity in a new partner.

An Chamu is among the numerous Emi Sakura trainees, having started her professional wrestling career in 2018. She has been involved in the business on and off since then, most recently appearing on ChocoPro episode 81, where she battled Sakura in a losing effort. Since then, the gravure idol turned pro wrestler has made numerous appearances for Colega Pro Wrestling, based in Osaka, Japan, working with the likes of Hibiscus Mii and Saori Anou. Don’t let An Chamu’s cute presentation fool any opponent; armed with an effective ground game and various submissions, she is efficient from bell to bell.

Together, Mizumori and An Chamu will face Pencil Army members Emi Sakura and Lulu Pencil. Though they have worked with one another numerous times, they have yet to pick up a victory as a team. Even when they worked alongside Minoru Fujita in the first ChocoPro six-man tag team match on episode eighty-two, Sakura and Lulu Pencil came up short. However, their losses have only made them that much more determined. Perhaps, on this upcoming episode, the stars will align and the odds will be in the favor of Pencil Army.
