Preview: AEW Dynamite – New Year’s Smash Night Two (1/13/21)

New Year's Smash

New Year’s Smash continues with Night Two. AEW Dynamite is starting 2021 off right after last week’s five-star bout between Rey Fenix and Kenny Omega. The Good Brothers from IMPACT Wrestling are here and realigned with The Elite. AEW heads into 2021 full of confidence and ready for war. The Wednesday Night Wars are heating up in this cold not to mention depressing winter month. We may be still in a godawful pandemic, together with millions losing their jobs, and seeing increased insanity across the world. But at least we got to see whatever the hell Snoop Dog tried to do last week? Anyway, this is what’s in store for AEW Dynamite: New Year’s Smash Night Two.

Full Card For New Year’s Smash Night 2

-Pac vs Eddie Kingston

-FTR vs Jurassic Express

-Serena Deeb vs Tay Conti: NWA Women’s Championship

-The Waiting Room with Guest Cody Rhodes

-Chuck Taylor vs Miro

-The Elite in Action

-Darby Allin vs Brian Cage: TNT Championship

Brooklyn Rage

TNT Champion Darby Allin defends his title against FTW Champion “The Machine” Brian Cage. They say all men are created equal. Well if you look at Cage and then look at Darby. That statement is not true. Brian Cage is a genetic freak and he’s not normal. So in reality, Darby Allin has a 25% chance at best. Add in Team Taz to mix and those chances of winning drastically go down. The numbers don’t lie. They spell disaster at Sacrifice New Year’s Smash.

Ever since Double Or Nothing, when Cage made his debut, he made Darby his prime target for disrespecting the Human Suplex Machine. My first article was how I felt Brian Cage and Ricky Starks are an unnecessary pairing. Since then, I’ve turned a complete 180. Team Taz absolutely rules. Taz is doing the work of his life right now. This ain’t a sloppy shop my man. Team Taz are great and so is the unofficial alliance between “The Icon” Sting and Darby Allin. Can Darby retain his title against Weapon X?

What’s The Artillery Gang doing in the IMPACT Zone?

Kenny Omega has brought “Bullet Club” back together in AEW and IMPACT all while Tama Tonga plots his next murder. For weeks now, Omega has fled to IMPACT Wrestling and re-aligned with Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows. Together, the trio will take on Rich Swann and The Motor City Machine Guns at Hard To Kill. Last week they assaulted Moxley until The Young Bucks came to calm things down. Now, as of this writing, The Elite reunite as champions.

The Young Bucks, despite being huge pricks, are babyfaces. So they are unsure if Gallows and Anderson can be trusted. On Being The Elite, Big LG and The Machine Gun are living their Rockstar fantasies once again. Both The Good Brothers and Young Bucks are champions in their respective promotions. Will “Bullet Club” devolve into a Civil War like it always does? How long until Kenny’s ego trip lasts until he gets his due karma?

Jungle Life

No Flips Just Fists FTR take on Jurassic Express. It’s Jim Cornette’s nightmare tonight on New Year’s Smash. Dax and Cash are less than thrilled after losing the straps. Meanwhile the loveable losers in Jurassic Express are determined to become AEW World Tag Team Champions. FTR are offended at the existence of Tarzan and his Dinosaur friends.

After FTR called Marko Stunt the weak link, he told FTR he and Jungle Jack would be the team to take the duo on instead of Luchasaurus. A tale as old as time, babyfaces are naturally gullible and make stupid decisions. Can the two Dino Boys pull off the upset against these Brainbusting Baddies?

Death Runs in The Family

“The Bastard” Pac takes on “The Mad King” Eddie Kingston. Death Triangle is out for blood after Eddie’s manipulation of The Lucha Bros. Pac was stuck in Quarantine for 8 months before returning to AEW Dynamite. Now that Kingston has solidified his place in the food chain. He won’t be taken down without a fight. Not to mention. Lance Archer will almost certainly make an appearance as well. Make no mistake, this is real, and Eddie Kingston will face the music.
