Preview: Gatoh Move ChocoPro #52 (10/2/20)

ChocoPro 52

Last time on ChocoPro, viewers were treated to a cavalcade of action and news. First, Sayaka Obihiro faced Mei Suruga in a solid main event match. Second, it was announced that Chie Koishikawa would be shifting her focus to work for Gatoh Move Pro Wrestling full-time. Third, the remaining dates for ChocoPro season three events were confirmed. For episode fifty-two, here is what fans can expect as we move closer to the season finale.

Pencil Army (Emi Sakura and Lulu Pencil) vs. Chie Koishikawa and Cherry (ChocoPro Debut)

On this upcoming episode of ChocoPro, viewers will see a Pencil Army reunion. Recently, these two have been working solo, though it could be argued it was only a matter of time until they found themselves back together. Despite their lack of success, as a duo, Pencil Army has endeared themselves to the ChocoPro faithful. One of their opponents will be Chie Koishikawa, the fighter with “too much energy,” who recently announced that she will be working with Gatoh Move full-time. Congratulations are in order, to be certain, but further celebration will have to wait.

Teaming with the exuberant Koishikawa will be Cherry, who will be making her ChocoPro debut. She currently competes for Ice Ribbon and Actwres girl’Z, just to name a few organizations. With that said, Cherry has made Gatoh Move appearances over the years. Her last match for Gatoh Move took place this past January, when she teamed with rookie Sayaka in a losing effort against Sakura and Masahiro Takanashi. Cherry is set to make her ChocoPro debut on episode fifty-two, and with an energetic partner like Koishikawa, Pencil Army will have a sizable challenge ahead of them.

Sayaka Obihiro vs. Mei Suruga

As stated earlier, the previous episode of ChocoPro featured Sayaka Obihiro taking on Mei Suruga. They faced each other multiple times in the past, but despite the “Apple Girl’s” best efforts, she routinely fell to the veteran. However, on episode fifty-one, Suruga was able to exorcise the proverbial demon, locking in the devastating Lucifer to tap out the joshi puroresu veteran. Finally, Suruga earned redemption. However, this wouldn’t be the end of this feud, as a rematch was announced for episode fifty-two.

Heading into their fourth singles match against one another, the stakes are as high as ever for Obihiro and Suruga. Despite having more years of experience, as of late, Obihiro hasn’t been a full-time wrestler. She has been focused on outside endeavors, including cooking, but her appearances have always been well-received. Now only do fans respect her efforts over the years, including her work building Gatoh Move in its formative years, but she remains a solid wrestler overall. Having defeated Suruga in their first two encounters, Obihiro’s recent loss won’t go unchecked.

Meanwhile, Suruga has only been building upon her skill set. Instead of relying so much on creative pinning attempts, she has been focusing on adding more authoritative maneuvers to her arsenal. The previously mentioned Lucifer, her take on the Cattle Mutilation, has led her to victory on multiple occasions. This could become her ace in the hole as she faces various opponents, from Gatoh Move rookies to wrestling veterans. Will it work to her benefit once more in this upcoming rematch?
