Preview: Gatoh Move ChocoPro #51 (9/30/20)

ChocoPro 51

Closer and closer Gatoh Move Pro Wrestling approaches to the ChocoPro season three finale. To say that this has been a packed season thus far would be an understatement, from the first ChocoPro events to take place in a traditional wrestling ring to inter-promotional warfare with All Elite Wrestling. This week, Gatoh Move takes things back to square one, as it will be all ChocoPro, all the time. So far, one match has been announced for this show. However, there is sure to be more to come on episode fifty-one. Let’s get into it!

Chie Koishikawa and Emi Sakura vs. Tokiko Kirihara and Lulu Pencil

In ChocoPro, Chie Koishikawa is still searching for that big win. The girl in orange with “too much energy” has become something of a fan favorite in Gatoh Move, though it’s clear her win-loss record has left something to be desired. On this upcoming episode, she teams with a more than formidable partner in Emi Sakura. Last time, she waved the AEW banner, but now, she has shifted her focus back to her own promotion.

On the other side of Ichigaya Chocolate Square will stand the duo of Tokiko Kirihara and Lulu Pencil. Despite being polar opposites in terms of personalities and fighting styles, they have been surprisingly formidable as a pair. Can the combination of strikes and submission from Kirihara and crafty offense from Lulu Pencil be enough to overcome Koshikawa and Sakura? Tune into this episode of ChocoPro to find out!

Sayaka Obihiro vs. Mei Suruga

The last time Sayaka Obihiro was seen in ChocoPro was episode 44, when she teamed with rookie Chie Koishikawa to face the Emi Sakura and Mei Suruga, collectively known as Apple Queens. This wasn’t Obihiro’s only season three appearance, however. Most notably, she wrestled on episode 41, which was the Emi Sakura 25th anniversary event. In the main event, she faced the wrestler the event was named after, though Sakura came out victorious. To see Obihiro in Gatoh Move is a treat and this upcoming match will be no exception.

Though the season is still in progress, there is an argument to be made for Mei Suruga as the season three MVP. Whether it’s been against Tokiko Kirihara, Yuna Mizumori, or the team of Sakura and Riho, the “Red Devil” of Gatoh Move has been putting on incredible performances. She’s also added more devastating maneuvers to her arsenal. These include Lucifer, which is her take on the Cattle Mutilation submission hold. Simply put, Suruga has been consistent in Gatoh Move. However, on this upcoming episode, she is set to take on Obihiro, who will be no slouch.

Despite taking on something of a part-time schedule in professional wrestling, Obihiro’s credentials speak for themselves. Having debuted in 2010, the fighter in blue has amassed a number of achievements, including two International Ribbon Tag Team Championships. She also won the Asia Dream Tag Team Championship, Gatoh Move’s designated tag team accolade, back in 2016. Furthermore, she has served as Sakura’s right-hand woman for a number of years. Suruga will have to use every ounce of skill to overcome the experience factor Obihiro will bring to the table.
