Aleister Black Returns to RAW, Attacks Kevin Owens

Aleister Black Kevin Owens WWE RAW

On tonight’s episode of Monday Night RAW, Aleister Black made his return during “The Kevin Owens Show.” The former NXT Champion had been absent from WWE programming since late July, when he was attacked by Murphy. Not unlike the repeated actions of his leader, Seth Rollins, Murphy forced Black’s eye into the ring steps, blinding him. This caused Black to miss roughly one month of action.

Black returned to RAW, wearing a wrap around his injured eye. During “The Kevin Owens Show,” Owens attempted to comfort Black. Owens related to Black in his disdain toward Rollins and his followers. The “Prizefighter” of WWE also spoke about his villainous actions in the past and his attempts to be a better person. As Owens continued, Black suddenly dropped to his knees, holding his hand over his injured eye. A concerned Owens made his way to Black’s side, asking for help. This proved to be a ploy, as Black suddenly attacked Owens, laying him out with the Black Mass. As officials tended to the fallen Owens, Black made his way to the back.

Late last month, rumors speculated online regarding a potential repackaging for Aleister Black. Fans wondered what this would have entailed. Would it be a soft reset or a complete overhaul of the character he had portrayed since 2017? Now that he’s a villain, Black’s sights are set on Owens and anyone else that crosses his path. In addition to the NXT Championship, Black won the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic in 2019, teaming with Ricochet to do so.
